BACK ON TOPIC!!!!

Take both cars and jack up one side just behind the front tire. Take measurments of the frame hight just behind the front tire and in front of the rear tire before you begin. As soon as the rear tire is off the ground, measure the change of distance at the two points.

This MAY give a good idea of how strong the frames are.

also might be a good idea to make sure the distances between the two points on both cars are the same.

lol, thanks for bringing this back to earth a little bit. I had no idea a torque debate would ensue haha...

but yeah...i may try that...if i get a REALLY wild hair up my ass one weekend perhaps.

you don't have to, I've already done it on my bro's car a long time ago...

his was a damn wet noodle compared to mine, we didn't measure, but it's obvious...

i have a 350 chevy small block w/ a corvette 6sp in my 86' supra :) and yes it handels it quiet well it has alot of torque but we have yet to have anything crazy happen to the frame , in fact it runs very nice though the only issue i have is we keep blowing out exhaust gaskets

if you wana see some pictures and video of it

I just don't understand. Why go from a fuel injected turbocharged engine to this?

I could see a fuel injected V8, MAYBE with a supercharger, but carburated? I just don't get it.

I commend you on the swap, but the choice of fuel/air delivery really lacks in my opinion.

well its entirely in the R&D phase :s were probably going to turbo charge it and put a big holly carb on it lol :D

the thing about fuel injection is u need computers, etc, etc. and when i blew the engine on this we couldnt figure out what to do w/ the car so we completely stirped out the engine and computers and decided to drop in one of our already built up engines.
but anyway a carburetor is a tried and true method yes it is old and only has a few more years to live but for providing power and torque its one of the best methods

this build is also a low budget build :/ over a long period of time

I love how you had to pump the gas once to start it!

True American!

All carburated cars need a pump on the gas before you start, especially if they have an auto choke.

ahhhh cool xD lol glad to hear i have a fan but yes your friend is full of shit the 350 small block wont bend or warp ur frame but it will take alot of work to get in there and sit stable if ur not careful u may get a a vibration in the drive shaft get a single solid one instead of getting the one that comes w/ the car cut and fit to size. ill try and get some video of it running on the road and up on the lift we should start working on it again here soon we have been kind of short of money latly to work on it lol
