Well the story starts off as me going to mephis,tennesee for three days for my job.
then going to cedar point for three days for my brother in laws birthday.
the story end as me starting my supra today for the first time in a week
and I hit second gear about 2000 rpm's and I hear a knocking sound.
I stop and I am praying for the best I pop the hood and I hear the
lifters then I open the throttle a little bit and it sounds like
someone is beating the block with a hammer from the inside.

Being that I have no other car should I baby it til I can get a beater
or just park it and get a ride?

You'd think by still driving regardless of if you baby it or not is potentially going to just make it worse.
Depending on your budget,you can either do a complete re-build or get a donor motor.

People seem to think that they can baby the car home because it was "just a few miles". Once you hear the thing knocking, turn it off and turn it off for good until you fix it. Driving it once it is knocking is just going to exponentially make it worse and you could end up with a completely useless crank/block/everything.

What was/is the oil level like?

I always ask this question and NOBODY answers. I am curious as to how often anyone gets rod knock with proper oil levels. So far, I have only heard of a few isolated incidents, most of which were due to extreme lateral accelerations conceivably moving oil away from the pickup long enough to run the motor dry.

Long story short, I'd appreciate it if you could give us your oil level. :)

Thats the funny thing before I left for cedar point I checked it and it was full
I get it home and I hear the knock so I check the oil and its a quart low.

And I also had me keys so no one would drive it.

I mean it burns oil but never have I seen a quart go in 8 miles.
And it dont leak more then a quart a month from the rar main?

This is why I am so pissed about it.

7M = ALWAYS + 1Qt always.

It doesn't hurt and if things go bad it means you end up at stock full.

1 Qt low and hard on the brakes WILL RK a 7M :(

Driving it will only make it a lot worse, maybe even put a rod thru the block, which would be the worst of it, damaged crank beyond repair, etc. etc.

Did you notice your oil pressure drop to almost zero?

Are you sure that's coming from the bottom end? I could barely hear that at all. When I had RK in my Celica, it was super loud. See if Jeff can come have a listen in person, he'll tell you for sure. From the video, it sounds like it might be something else.

I always thought putting in a quart extra of oil was harder on the gaskets?

thanks to this forum I always run a full quart over.

That vid is a bit hard to hear the knock. I have heard lots of things that started off thinking RK, but ended up being something else fixable. Might want to be sure before you write it off.

I think it was the seals, that would make more sense. My nomenclature with engine internals is pretty terrible, I've never torn one apart myself.

But that is why I've been weary of adding an entire extra quart, because of doing damage to the seals.

Also, how does the dipstick represent the loss of one quart? I've been told that if the oil on the dipstick falls below that "fill" line, you are one quart or more lower than what is supposed to be in the pan.
