Can I use the stock car jack to lift up the axle so I can put Jack stands under it to check the diff. Fluid and tans fluid?
Is it strong enough and where is the best place to put the jack at?
I also have a 2 ton floor jack but its kinda small and im not sure it will lift it high enough.
Quick response is appreciated as I am trying to ge the work done today and tomorrow.

Holy hell no!

Use your floor jack, and lift on the Dif. Then put the stand where they're SUPPOSE to go.

or lift on the pinch welds on each side since there the lifting points on the car.

When making statements like this please make sure to explain to only use the scissor jack for this specific jack point. We don't want to have him try this with his 2 ton.

Jack and jack stands. Never crawl under a car that's supported by only a jack. Not blocks of wood, not cinder blocks, jack stands.

If you don't have proper equipment, then don't do the work. Your life depends on it.

I used jack stands and i know enough not to just trust the jacks.
The problem is the guy that my parents used to have work on the car( the guy that charged them over $25 to clean the throttle body) was an idiot and bent part of the pinch welds.
I ended up just sliding the jack down farther and putting the jack stand on the other side of the bent pinch weld.

Does anyone know what tools I need to get the diff. and tranny plugs out so i can check the fluids? sorry for all the dumb questions.

This complicated tool known as a socket paired with the rarest of all tools...a ratchet. Put together they are unstoppable.

I removed my diff drain plug with a 24mm socket today, but stripped my fill plug with a 24mm socket. Don't know if it was too big (I did try a 23mm but couldn't get it on), or maybe I just came at a bad angle.

Sounds like you did them in the wrong order. How do you plan on filling that diff now? Were you able to get the fill plug out?
