I got an ebay DDP, With no flange or anything...Do you think ill have any issues with the WG flapper hitting the pipe? I guess i can just cut/grind the pipe if i have to. Also it easy to get at the WG housing to port it out? Ive ported/honed/polished at least 5 briggs and stratton motors before, So i have the tools and practice, Ive just never taken apart a turbo before.

you do not have to take part the turbo there is no reson to just need ot grin abotu 1 mm off the flapper hole

it's the flange pock you will ahve to grind away at

Well I mean to prevent boost creep, I would port/flow the wg opening as much as possible. How hard is it to replace the flapper itself? Does anyone make a WG flapper for the ct26 off the shelf? And does anyone have a sound clip of a stock or not so modded supra running an open(non recirc, not open exhaust) DDP? I bet it would sound wicked lol.

Welp, I finally removed my shims and she still creeps. Running no boost controller, she boosts to 6 psi and creeps up to 9-11 depending on what gear i'm in and if i push it hard.

I know i can run atleast 13-14 psi without hitting boost cut, but my question is, if i get a boost controller and set it to 13 or 14, will it creep higher?

Thanks,
Jason

The small wastegate hole can only flow so much exhaust. The stock wastegate was designed to flow enough to control stock boost levels and with stock exhaust, and restrictive downpipe. Now once you use high flow parts like downpipes and exhaust there is way less back pressure and there is just simply too much flow for that little wastegate to control. Now I dont know why only some cars have this problem but most dont.................. 99% of the time porting the wastegate will cure this, if you have an upgraded turbo it seems to happen more often because now the turbo is flowing way more air than stock even at the same boost levels, now compound this with cold dense winter air and you can have boost cut at 8-9 psi.

Like BigAaron said above, just upgrade the fuel system with 550's and a Lex
afm, and or S-AFC, and just run a 10-12 psi all the time.

definately wish i could do the lex afm/550 injectors right now, i have no problem boosting in double digits, its just for now i cant afford to go that way and i dont want to be hitting fuel cut all winter long.

Just having my Walbro 255 somehow allows me to boost to atleast 14 psi without hitting FC...

If i gotta pull the turbo and port the wastegate, i might as well just upgrade it and get my fuel mods as well...

thats no doubt my plan for spring time but for now with my ddp i need it ported. My supra is still fairly low milage and in amazing shape so my turbo just spools a lot nicer than others so the wastegate isnt enough to drain the excess.

I'd take my turbo off and just get the wastegate ported, but this is my Daily Driver so it's something i cant just do in a day...

I did buy a used CT-26 so i guess it's gonna get sent out for an upgrade and port job.
