Tial BOV

The RS bov has the little blue horn you can unscrew and put a pipe in it to recirculate, the Tial vents out around the body of it so you couldn't recirculate it.

The RS bov sounds great. im running it on my car and im very happy. i dont even think Aaron set my maft pro to run n e boost at all...if so very little, and it sounds very nice. cant wait to hear it when im boosting.

I know(from second hand knowledge) that our AFMs go funny without recirculating a BOV.

Had I ought to go for somthing mroe functional for my application Aaron, rather than go for what it will sound like?

hunh...that's somewhat what I've heard, but I want detailed info on why, what happens, and what it can cause!!!

Yeah, the air that goes passed the afm is measured and the correct amount of fuel goes in for that much air. If the bov opens and lets air escape after the afm to atmosphere, the fuel is still injected for it, so the engine runs very rich for a few seconds and it may stall. It can be annoying, and possibly dangerous. I had mine stall on a tight high speed 270deg freeway offramp run one time when I was not expecting it, and you loose power steering. I popped the clutch to start it during the turn at about 50 mph but then the power steering kicked in and I had some serious accidental oversteer. Let's just say it probably looked a little crazy to see a MK3 drift off an offramp and across 3 lanes of a city street... :biglaugh:
