This is why I give people shit when they start out with an econobox and make it fast, be it manufacturer or private person.
The Neon is a front wheel drive econobox. The SRT-4 is a front wheel drive econobox with too much power. I've driven these things. Torque steer is just horrendous, no actually dangerous would be a better description. The car is stupidly overpowered for it's suspension, brakes and chassis.
Couple big power, low investment cost, parental stupidity (Ohhh! It's a Neon, it's cute! Get one for Billy!), front wheel drive, and you are just about 100% guaranteed to attract young (inexperienced) drivers. You put an inexperienced driver in that and you've got a problem on your hands.
There was a place here in ATL called WarpedSpeed Performance. They built ten 500 horsepower Civics. A year later one of them was left. Think about that, only one. The rest had been totaled. Why? Big power, front wheel drive, econobox chassis.
You can die in ANY car. Be it Top Fuel Dragster or a bone stock Geo Metro. But at least with a car like a Supra, you are starting out with something that was designed, from the ground up, to be fast. And safe.
