If you don't have a roll cage your going to have a bad time if you roll at speed. Do not suffer under the illusion that the supra would have faired any better. There are three dead teenager from north Alabama whose shades will tell you why.

I bet that because it was a modern car is the reason he survived at all.

Actually to take it a step further to you guys realize what kind of cage you'd need to run in a car that weighs what a Supra weighs?

Running 8's in a ProStreet class they made me add a funny car cage to my existing 14 point gusseted cage for a 2900 lb car in order for it to get certified. ...

It's all about vehicle weight and the ability of the bars to keep the structural integrity when they hit something at speed. The roll cage for MKIII would have to be a fortress to be truly safe. A MKIII has some amazing momentum due to it's weight.

He is getting tongue lashed here for making a video to try and let you learn from his mistakes. The first would be buying a neon of course, and then not knowing how to drive at high speeds. He will probably become a spokesperson traveling around to highschools with his x-rays and video trying to teach younger kids to drive slower and safer, so I say more power to him. That just makes it safer for all of us. I don't think he made the video so we would feel sorry for him, I think he did it to try and save one persons life that might not drive fast now after watching his video. I love to drive fast, and am willing to pay the consequences for my actions, but I believe I can handle my car and I keep a close eye on everyone else around me, because I have no control over their car. I'm glad he lived and I'm also glad he made this because I'm sure he'll change some other neon driving, street racing teenagers mind about driving like an idiot after viewing this video...................watch out for the other idiots on the road...............lol

This is so tru. When you hear about a civic hitting high numbers or a young person getting one that is fast I always hear some time down the road that it was flipped on the highway, hit something, car is totaled, engine blew. Always. Most recent was a few weeks ago a guy that was just about finished his 90 prelude crashed it into a tree and its totaled. Most young people need a few crashes before they learn unfortunetly

Yup. I vote truth. Although I got lucky, my experience was just sliding out on a cloverleaf onramp into traffic. No crashing involved, but it slowed me down a bit...

i dont drive like an idiot at all and it is because i know shit like this can happpen whether or not your driving safe. There are other idiots out there who think they're the shit for driving fast n crazy and they're the ones who prove to me that shit is retarded. That was a good vid though cuz i wouldnt want that shit happening to my sup and especially not to me!
