hahahahahaha i wont be making that power for awhile...still gonna need fuel, clutch, and cams before i even come CLOSE to that.

i'm just right there with cnewingham or whatever his name is. i always said IF and when i EVER remove the stock twins it will be to go single. i didn't want to risk paying 250 for another set of twins just to have them detonate again. so i'll go single low boost for now and just do it all in steps.

awesome numbers rakkasan. ENJOY IT

First of..I will be the BAD guy to this thread..

With the mod that you list:

60-1 turbo with 2jz stock cams @13psi with no spray and lets say timing at 25, I dont see 480 RWHP.

Unless it is a fully built head with a 2jz block then it might be possible, but then again its only on stock 2jz cams.

It is more likely 380 whp than 480.

your reading comprehension is lacking. The car had already made 426 @ 20psi with next to no tuning using EMB, stock cams & cam gears running 11.2 AFR. This can be verified by watching this video. I didn't say that the tuner expects to make 480 @ 13psi, but at 20psi. He had made 440 @ 13psi.

so are you saying that I can't expect 55 - 75 more whp from dropping in mild cams, stand alone & giving it a complete, thorough tune?

440hp is so possible at 13psi is very possible on a 60-1, pituala on here made 430 hp at 14 lbs on 440inj before he started leaning out he to is running a similar sized turbo. so it's very possible.

Reap you don't need too much to make that power. I have a gt40 550cc inj. stock fuel rail and SAFC2 and I made 485, I dropped it to 468. You have what it takes. Oh I also have stock clutch and no cams. My car is a daily driver too.
I put in a an average of 450-500 mile per week. So no one can say that it can't be done.:naughty:

nice! yea my stock clutch should hold some roll races but i'll still be buying an ACT clutch due to the fact that i love to run at the track, slipping a stock clutch to launch = :nono: LOL

plus on 15psi on stock twins my clutch started to slip when i banged 2nd......:biglaugh:

if your injectors only flowed 450ccs you'll be running out of fuel soon.. Any ideas on what the duty cycle was like or timing #s

The threads I read, all the MKIV "550cc" injectors flow 450cc. Yet people are making 500whp+ on them, so wtf do I know.

I got 550, I made 485 and I am still -15% at my highest afr. For some reason they come back at 450cc but yet make the power of 550cc. I choose to believe the dyno instead of the flow bench.
I'll be retuning in a week or so to max out my set up. I am sure I'll break 500 with not problem.

that's exactly what happened, I ran out of fuel. :icon_conf The guy made 4 or 5 pulls, and on the last one, he hit a brick wall due to the injectors. The duty cycle shot up in non-linear proportions so he was done.

He made 469whp @ 18psi on the last pull, but he ran out of paper, so he's going mail it to me. I'm not looking at the graph, but I think the max torque was close to 400lbs. On a side note, The pulls were done at 2pm in Atlanta, so that means they were made in 110 degree weather & he made no attempts to cool the car between pulls, so heat soak was in full effect. I asked him to do this because I wanted an as driven tune & not have to worry about what happens when heat soak set in.

The car feels much better. It's 10x smoother & pulls like a tractor. The difference between piggy back & stand alone is like night & day. I love it! Now it's time to get my A/C fixed, it was a hot drive home......
