** NEW PICS ON PAGE 11*** Well, after waiting awhile I decided to post up what is going on with the build. I decided to ditch the 7M because it is no longer cost effective.

Most of the stuff has been acquired but some is still left to purchase. Going in my 88 MKIII is:

Engine
Stock shortblock 2JZGE-T measured/miked out
Mild port on head with deshrouded valves
Cometic 8.6:1 c/r (0.76") headgasket
Schneider 260 regrinds

Turbo and Intake
T\GT4294 w/thermal-coated 1.01 4" vband discharge
Ching chang chow braced SS exhaust manifold (thermal coated)
50 mm ching chang chow wastegate
3" intercooler piping
4" full exhaust
12x24x3" intercooler
q45 throttle body
custom front facing intake

Fuel/Ignition
2jzgte AEM EMS
re-pinned 2jzge wiring harness
1000cc precision injectors
dual pumps
dual-feed stock fuel rail
AEM CDI
2jz GTE Coil Packs
7m CPS

Trans/Clutch
1jz bell housing on R154
ATS Carbon triple-plate clutch

Chrome Ruff Racing 280 Series wheels
18x8.5 35mm 245/40
18x9.5 45mm 275/40

Since this is just a build thread, I dont want to argue the whole point of 2j vs 7m and why I went 2j but if you want to talk about it check out one of these threads:

Looking good man!

What've you got all over everything though? Sheetrock dust?

Nice build! Good luck with everything, it will be a killer ride once it's finished. Love the color choice.

What type of hp numbers are you shooting for? I can't wait to see this thing come together and get dyno'd. Definately subscribing to this thread. Good luck

I should have it running in a month or two. i still have to drop 2300 on the clutch and finish building the manifold, IC pipes and exhaust.

Finish the wiring....

After that I have to spray the paint....

With the GT4294 I should be able to put down a healthy 700 hp. Possibly more. We will see how she acts when I turn up the boost....

Damn there must be a rule or something in Washington, that if you own a supra, it has to put down more than 650 rwhp.................:biglaugh:

I know of two supras now that meet that law.

I got my turbo in the mail today. I think I strained my back bending over the fender to test fit it. Its fucking huge. It looks like I will have to put a spacer in to lift the turbo enough for the compressor housing outlet to move to the 6 o'clock position. About 2 inches should do it but more test fitting will tell for sure.

Notice the size of the cam gear vs inlet?

The intake manifold is coming along pretty well. I was surprised how easy it was to weld aluminum with a wire-feed MIG from harbor freight. It took awhile to grind down though.... Pretty much all I have left with the FFI is to position the q45 flange and weld on the caps. Some grinding on the exterior to clean up the beads too.....

Well I have a few different options to make this thing fit. Basically, it fits but the the compressor cover is pretty close to the strut tower and the compressor outlet goes directly into the frame.

Im deciding between:

Mounting this turbo on a 3" spacer - this will require a modified hood.

Modifying the compressor outlet to include a 90 degree bend in the end of it.

:dunno:
