Your post-paint on your post 89 looks good crisp! LOL. Noticed the shaved emblem, I likes. ;) Did the same to mine.

Thanks! Mine's been "shaved" on the nose and had ALL badging/labeling removed since I first got it in '95, but when we did the paint this last time, I even had them remove the antennae and FILL the hole in the rear body and wing! Looks MUCH better!

Make sure you take it to an established shop with a reputation for standing behind their work. Don't be afraid to pay for quality! A crappy fresh paint job is much more embarrassing than an old factory one.

My nose piece had the annoying (to me) headlight squiters in which I also had removed. I removed the entire antenna assemble and also had that patched, oh and the rear windshield wiper motor too haha.

I think original (or at least close to) color is the absolute best option as far as repaints go. Props to that.

Just went through this and realized that I haven't posted any pics of the new car... then dug through my hard drive, and realized that I really don't HAVE any good pictures of the new car. I have to fix that, and soon... luckily the PacNW show is only a few weeks away, and I'll probably end up with some nice pics on the golf course. Until then, here's some photos from a recent wash of the old car and the new car...

Ok, I haven't done much to the car yet, owned it 2 months, sorting out daily driving issues, build is in the future. However, I feel obligated to share my $1100 find with the world... Or at least the internet lol.

Anyhoo, Here are the stats:
1988 N/A Targa M/T

Near as I can tell, it's the Dark Blue Metallic/Pearl (from my research it's paint code 8E3)

I'm going to repaint it this color except for the hood, which will be black.

On to the pics, sorry for the long winded intro... (Sorry for the night pics, will be taking better ones soon)

Ya you need a paint job bad. And id ditch the black hood idea. More of a ghetto wannabe cf hood rocker. Get a cf hood if you want that. Just my opinion tho.
