I got my stinger this weekend, and I know a lot of others are really interested in this setup. I decided to make this thread to help not only me, but others with the process of wiring up and setting up the EMS Stinger.

Here is the Stinger manual:

Pre-89 Pinout (for wiring to stock wiring harness):

Obviously some sensors are going to be easier to wire up than others. I was thinking maybe we could cover the harder items first (IE: wiring stock ignitor and CPS).

Ignition (ignitor to coils).
I read up a great deal on JetJock's information about how the stock ecu communicates to the ignitor. I was wondering if anyone could help me understand how the Stinger would communicate with it?

1N4001 diodes would work just fine. Anything 500ma or higher and 50v or higher.

I'll post what I had done so far, but I made a few changes at the end that I didn't keep track of. The problem is that I really spent a lot of time on this whole Stinger thing, and I saw there was another competitors website to ours, undercutting us on the price trying to cash in on my hard work. The only thing I ask is that if you buy an EMS Stinger for your Supra, buy it from Driftmotion.

I agree with the above statement wholeheartedly. This is why I was a little hesitant to start this thread.. making this information more widely available just takes away from the effort driftmotion put into it.. if we don't do our job to give our support.

I made this in Excel. The only problem was that I got in a rush at the end and made a few changes that I didn't keep track of. The CPS was one thing I think may be a little off in this diagram. We can get it updated and then I can start having the harnesses made. I want to get the harnesses done, but a few other projects took priority at the moment.

My bad, the 1N4001 diodes will work fine. I got mixed up, it's 1N4001-1N4007 you want. The 1N4xxx are all 1amp, and the last digit is the voltage rating.
I'm getting rusty on the semiconductor part numbers, I used to know most of them by heart.

Do you happen to know which Ohms are for low impedence injectors?

Maps and settings.. can you host them anywhere?
(or email me hottscennessey@mail.com)
I'm specifically looking for:
-7M/2JZ Maps.. stock or modified. Just need a starting point.
-H20 sensor calibration file (for 7M)
-ITA sensor calibration file (MSD)
-ECU Settings file (for ignition settings, basically)

Sorry for all the questions, thanks :)

I got the Stinger all wired up as per Aaron's diagram.. but I'm having trouble getting power to the ECU. This was just a stupid mistake, I know it.

Aaron, was this diaram supposed to be used in conjunction with the include bosch relay? Because I assumed it didn't, and thats probably my mistake. (I'm refering to the relay in the upper right corner.) When I went back and tested with the multimeter, it looked like I was supposed to use it, but I just wanted to make sure before I go through the work.

You don't need to use the bosch relay, just use the ignition output from the main efi relay. You need to have the input to the cutoff relay connected to ground to bypass it, and you need to power up the main efi relay coil from the ignition keyswitch otherwise you will not have any power to the ignition system. That part is not covered in the wiring diagram from the Stinger.

On the cps, you may not need to cut any wires in it. There is a common ground, and outputs from the G1 and NE terminals for crank and sync triggers. The only reason I cut one of the sync wires was because I didn't want noise introduced into the other triggers.

I see, thats what I thought at first. Something's wrong because I'm getting 12V's through my E01 and E02 to any chassi ground. When I ground E01 or E02 my FP is comming on. This is without the stinger pluged in. I know its going to be something stupid. lol.
