What happened to regular old jza70 ecus? I loaned mine to Clint in AZ, and as I plan getting my car to run, I kinda need one. So I can either jack Clint (and he's left trying to find one), or I can find another one for him, for me, for someone. :1zhelp:

All I can find are Mine's ECUs which are a little pricey for my tastes. I mean, $500 is more than halfway to a Stinger.

Are Mine's and standalone my only hope?

Try being an auto guy and finding an ECU....

I agree with you on the price for upgraded units, the Stinger is starting to look more and more like the best way to go.

Man!!! i got 3 burned ecus & my friend might be able to fixed them, he already repairs dsm ecus, trust me... he is the best at those.. the only problem i'll have is how to try them, i have a AEM ems on my supra & the car is not running either cause of rod knock. if anybody near chicago with a running 1jz can help let me know.

This has been happening for a while. 1J ECUs have never really been all that plentiful. The supply has gone down, sure enough but the demand has increased by a significant amount more IMO.

Buy a 2J jumper harness and switch to the Aristo ECU. Plenty of them floating around, they are cheap, and they are mapped for 440cc injectors so you can run larger injectors on a single without having to pull alot of fuel which can negatively impact your timing.

I was thinking about that! Is there any drawback to using an Aristo ecu on a stock 1j?

You will have to add 3 injector wires to convert to sequential injection to run a 2jz ecu. But I did this on my old 2jz car (using a 1jz harness). Worked flawlessly with the aristo ecu.

refer to the aristo ecu pinout and you'll see that it has 6 pins for the injectors, compared to the 1JZ's 3 pins. for example, on the 1JZ, injectors #1 and #4 share a wire going to the ecu. that means you have to run a wire from injector number 4 to the appropriate pin on the 2JZ ecu. basically each injector has its own ground wire to the ecu.

whats wrong with the UPGRADED ecu's or stand alone prices?

prices i've seen. Not too bad. Some times you can find an upgraded unit for 400/450.

250 for regular ECU
500 for an upgraded unit (Mines, Blitz, Sard)
800 for Stinger ECU + 200 harness + 200 02
