Yup, and adding them to the MkIII's unibody in an effectual manner is no small feat. I'm on prototype #3.

What brings you to SM? This is twice this morning you have posted. For those that don't know the screen name, he is one of the non-retards on SF. Like some of our own good guys here, he has done a lot of work on the car with mods and experimentation.

I look forward to you contributing more here.

Hello Nick,
Parts! We all need PARTS! Then I strayed into 'General' & lost focus, LOL.

Thnx for the kind words, but I've caught enough crap to make the visits fewer & farther in between.

On-topic:
Targa-wobble = FTL.

Thats one of the stupidest things I have yet to hear for a reason not to have a targa brace. so you think getting T-boned with an unpadded brace is worse than what exactly? Getting T-boned with Zero protection? or getting T-boned and thinking some 1/4" padded cardboard insert in your hardtop is gonna make one bit of difference on your injuries? Hey Im not saying buy mine (well because you cant unles you get one used since its out of production now) but I heard tale of someone else in the process of making one here..or there...dont know anymore. Yeah, you probably also think your padded dash is going to protect your face when you slam into at 60mph.....

:umno:

Yup...Dee Dee Dee for you alright. :tdo3:

Actually, I would've elaborated on Jeff's comments if I'd known a smart guy who can't read between the lines was going to reply. How about trying out splitting metal tubes spearing your cranium for size? A genius named theWeezL, indeed.

right, the targa bars are going to pierce your cranium, your shift knob is going to penetrate your rectum, the steering column is going to crush your chest, the front windshield is going to sever your corroded artery...

you watch too much TV man!

sure in an accident any number of things can happen. you can be going 10 miles an hour and get hit by a bicycle and still die if the circumstances are just right...but if you are worried about that you would never leave your home. Speaking of leaving home, dont you have another forum you flame people on?

I think Larry made good points about the supra being very hard to control flex with foam and braces. But I'm not really worried about a targa brace stabbing or decappitating. Even if it could happen, which I dought, the minimal percentage of time that I actually have the targa off (and the bar on) would reduce the likelyhood of any accidents while "targaing" anyway. I can't wait for nice weather..

Yeah man, as I said in your other thread, I hope you do it, if for no other reason than to see it done and how it turns out. I hope it makes even a sliver of difference, because it would allow for alternatives that allow us targa owners to really feel confident about our chassis.

My defence of the targa brace was not so much a defence of my product (as I said Im not even selling it anymore, well at least after I sell the last 2) but more as a comment on the shear ignorance of some people.

It seems to me that some people get a notion in their heads that something is a certain way without a shred of evidence that supports it and then they have the audacity to evangelize about it as if its the gospel according to....(insert screen name here). Im pretty much sick of it quite honestly, and find it harder and harder to keep hold of my tongue these days. So yeah, Im an outspoken proponent of targa bars until someone else can show me proof that they are either a) unsafe or b) there is a better alternative. Until then I plan to call "BS" when I read it.
