Abbreviated Backstory:
Got the car in September of 2007 in Gig Harbor, WA for FREE. It had sat for 2 years, unloved, with a dying automatic transmission. Towed the car home, brought it to life with a battery and gas. Reverse gear was totally gone, but I drove the car around for months regardless. In January, 2008, I found a 6MGE block on craigslist, bought it, and started building it. Fired up the new engine in April, 2008.

Investment So Far:
$1,300ish

My goals:

to make as much hp as possible with STOCK head. stock porting, stock cams, stock valves.
to make as much hp as possible with mostly stock EFI system
to make as much hp without having to go standalone/piggyback/wtfever
to have the car high 13/low 14 second 1/4 mile capable for as cheap as possible.
to have the car handle like it's on rails, eventually
to have the cheapest, prettiest, fastest n/a mk2 out there :)

What I have left to do:

I still have more tuning to do, which is why I am installing an AFPR and going back to the dyno for adjustments.
I still need to upgrade to a 3" exhaust
Ignition? MSD? something stronger than stock...
adjustable cam gears, for advancing the intake and retarding the exhaust just a hair
figure out how to install a 75mm throttle body without destroying too many intake manifolds, hehe
dremel out casting in the AFM for slightly better flow
Figure out how to make the sunroof lighter (fiberglass + motor removal)
remove rear seats
remove rear windshield wiper motor and assembly
repair rusty spare tire well

List of parts to buy: (before the end of the century)

braided fuel lines for AFPR
2JZ AEM cam gears
Brembo OEM rotors
KYB AGX adjustable shocks/struts
Eibach Ground Control coilovers
Super Pro polyurethane bushings
ST rear springs
rear strut bar
Celica door panels and manual window accessories
75mm throttle body
wheels ! 15x7 or 16x8

Sorry, never got around to putting in new metal on the inner fender there, was in a rush to get the engine in and running for a meet. The metal is still not there as of today :biglaugh:

Needs more pics of you actually working on the car.... better than porn :D

I can attest to that :biglaugh:

Oh, and why bother putting the metal back under the battery, it's weight savings! :sarcasm:

I've always been extremely fond of you black '85, Tanya. What you've done to it is freaking amazing! Keep it up!

Oh, and how did you tint your tail lights like that? I too would like to do that.

Look'n good, car's not too shabby either ;) Actually, very nice work Tanya, you put A LOT of the guys around here to shame.

Yeah, like me. I think I can handle it though. At least, as long as the pics keep flowing. :biglaugh:
