I have been working/planning out an LS6/T-56 swap into my Supra. I decided while I was at it to completely strip the car and only put a few things back in when I am done. Here are my first pics of the progress. I just finished pulling the engine and transmission tonight.

Nice luke- I'll have to come by and check that thing out sometime.

If you need any help, shoot me a PM (or just come into cub foods and find me in your friendly grocery department haha)

Were definitely going to have to line 'em up this summer and see who wins.

The LS6 will have stock heads and bottom-end. However it will have the 2002+ LS6 cam and likely have TPiS long tube headers and a sort of a 3" dual exhaust, and intake filter with a good tune. Later I plan on upgrading with better heads and a larger cam. Maybe run ~500hp N/A at the crank.

What could be better? Oh yeah, no pushrods... :p
Still should make for a nice supra, can't wait to see progress pics!

I mean, who's gonna suspect the two-tone brown supra?

No, you're right. It would be better to have two camshafts and a long crankshaft with half the displacement ;). Or in my case, four cams... that need to be re-timed after pulling the heads...

Anyhow, here is my most recent work. I got a new engine in it, the LSE. LS-Emy. Also note there is no longer ANYTHING in the engine bay.

Looking good.
Staying NA huh?
I think a couple of ct 26s would make a fun and nearly free twin setup on an already potent motor.

Yeah, and also add 75+ pounds to the nose in extra crap and give me worse throttle response. Why not tub out the rear and get a four link setup and run a 3-speed auto with 30" tires? I am not about drag racing. I like to drive. Meaning yes, straightline acceleration can be exhilirating however so can sliding and so can tackling a few curves. If I wanted a very powerful engine and did not care about weight differences I would drop in an LQ9 402CID twin turbo nitrous enhanced motor... One reason I am doing this swap is the fact that in N/A form the LS6 is lighter than the 7MGTE. My car should weigh about 3100 or less pounds when I am done and have a decent static weight distribution (less nose heavy).

Here are some pics of my recent progress. Time to paint the front end I think.

I haven't made many updates lately because my digital camera was under repair. Anyhow, I put a deposit down on an LS6 shortblock and am $200 from paying it off. However it will stay at TPiS until it is ready to install so I won't likely have any pics of it till later. I have however finished painting the front end of my Supra. For the third time... First I used a gloss black paint and did not get is even enough for my tastes. So sanded it down and tried again. I then realized that the reason it was uneven was due to overspray. Basically, the engine bay is not a smooth body panel so I shot from several angles which does not tend to work very well with gloss paints. So I decided I would just use a semi-flat black paint. No matter how I spray it, it looks even dry :). Makes for future repairs to part of the paint easy.

I also painted the brake calipers, which are far easier to make look good with gloss paint. Got rid of the 7M in trade for an LS1 PCM, intake manifold and throttle body along with some welding services.

I made a stop at TPiS to give them the majority of what was left to pay for the shortblock. Also snapped a couple shots of it while I was there. Notice the "batwing" corvette oil pan :). Probably the best thing for a conventional style oil system (non-dry sump).
