I know this thread is like ancient, but I just saw it... Also, I am currently running Pennzoil 10w-40 in my Supra...Is that okay, what do you guys recommend? I talked to Aaron at Driftmotion and he said that he uses Valvoline VR-1 20w-50, so I was planning on switching to that next oil change... What does everyone think? I just wanna make sure my baby is protected ;)

depends on your climate...the owners manual has a great breakdown of what to use in what climate.. here in Va our winters often stay close to 30 F, summers don't usuall get below 70, so winter time I'd go with 10w40, summer time get 20w50, but always always keep an eye on your oil pressure gauge (if youre running more than stock boost, get an aftermarket gauge) if the pressure is too low for your liking..get a thicker oil

Stay with a lighter weight. The reason most people use a heavy weight oil is if they have a small leak or they THINK it lubricates the cylinder walls better. But, it's false. When you cold start it, ALL of the oil is back in the pan. None of it stays on the walls or bearings. A heavier weight takes longer to get distributed thruout the engine. So, I say, a lighter weight oil.
