Thanks cjsupra90 and the rest of miatamania for making me think diffrentley. But theres still time and I still might keep the old tank and hey I don't want to hear that miata's are a better road race car cause I know with the right knowledge, wallet, weight, and driver that a supra could kick a miata's ass on a large course.

You would still be hard pressed even on a large course... Sebring is a large course. Dont get me wrong, I love my supra and it was a great track car at one time and will be again, but the miata still has many favorable aspect over a supra when build a track car and having put a miata that I build up again some pupose built $100,000+ track cars and beat them would easily lead me to believe that a supra doesn't stand much of a chance...

At 19, you are probably racing for fun, not for serious competition. So I would just race the supra. It's fun as hell on an autocross track, just a little clumsier than a miata. Your times will never be as low as a miata, sure, but you will be put in classes against comparable cars. There is really nothing like learning how to slam these huge clumsy beasts into a sharp little turn.

Sounds like the Miata is your better choice for racing..However, for a DD, I would pick the supra over the miata. I would much rather be in a supra tank vs. the miata in an accident. My cousin in Minnesota got caught under a tractor trailer while driving her brother's convertible Miata on the freeway. Luckily, it kicked the little car out into the median, and my cousin walked away. Perhaps both cars would be a good option. Its always good to have a backup car when you own a supra.
