Hi everyone, my 89 5-speed 7mgte wont start. I have spark, and fuel pressure but no injector pluse. I have changed the CPS, injectors resistor and, ECU. I have also checked the wiring from ECU to resistor it all checks out. When the resistor is pluged in, i have resistance in both sides of the injector plug. When I crank the engine it starts for about 2-5 sec. then dies. it feels like the cold start injector is the only one that works.
Please help!!!

Check engine error codes. Ensure your ECU grounds are connected. What was the last thing you did to the car since it last ran?

and for shits and giggles, check the 7.5A IGN fuse in the driver's side fuse box behind the kick panel. :)

my error codes were 21,52. the last thing i did was tried to fix the sheilded wire on the O2 sensor, i ran another sheilded wire from the computer to the O2 sensor and grounded the sheilded part. I tried to fire it up, and it wouldn't start. I took off all the stuff that I did, and it still wouldn't start...

I didn't check that fuse, because i thought it was only for the ignition switch. But I will certainly do that, and if that's what was wrong with it, then I deserve to be kicked in the head...:icon_conf

They should have brass lugs on them attached to the back of the intake or under the intake. They are a total of 4 wires, pair in 2's.
those bunch of wires are hooked up. the car ran for about 2 week after i build my engine sence then i only touched the harrness at the ECU and over the cams. after building my engine i couldnt pass the smog test. i tired to run another wire for the O2 due to the 21 error code and she stopped starting.

So what do i do when i have spark at the coils but no injector pulse, all grounds are hooked up (i even have a engine ground kit). I checked the CPS with a ohm meter and it shows change in position when I spin it.

Jetjock, The + side of the injector circuit is the 3 wires(white, white-blue, white-red )at the plug to the ECU, right?
If so, I checked the 3 wires from ecu to the injector plugs. now another thing, when I ohm tested the 3 wires from ecu to plugs I had resistance at both sides of the plugs, is that normal? and only if the resistor is pluged in.

To clarify, the positive connection is in the round four wire connector on the driver's sode fender. ;)

I have also checked the wiring from ECU to resistor it all checks out.
If it all checked out, it would start.
