People really find that kind of sound desirable?

It didn't sound like that until I put the Doug Thorley header on :icon_conf

do you have a light weight flywheel or something? the revs seem to drop real quick after u rev, faster than normal. Maybe the mk2's have lighter flywheels than the mk3.

No lightweight flywheel (or anything) to my knowledge.

I've got to say this thread has left me completely in love with Borla... although I think I'm still going to add a resonator.

Oh, I am!:biglaugh: It's actually a fine color, but I agree with Figit090, a lower freq exhaust would be good. It would de-rice your MkII by about 100%:naughty:

Tanabe's sound really good too.

I've never heard on on an N/A. Typically I've found that "sounds great!" exhausts are still raspy as hell on the N/A.

Finally got my OBX header back(had the y pipe welded to the collectors), and put new 2 1/4" pipe(from the test pipe back), 24" glasspack, and a 2 chamber flow on. Almost as quiet as stock, and a noticeable difference in the torque band. With the stock manifold, test pipe, no resonator, and a flowmaster, pulled hard from around 3000 to 6500, and loud and raspy. Put in the header, picked up a little better at low rpm, pulled hard from 4k up, not as raspy, but louder than before. New setup is very quiet and smooth, pulls hard at low rpm, and pulls even harder from 3500 up. Think I'm gonna drop down to an 18" glass pack though, little too quiet now.
