Okay so I went out of town and had some fun and now I'm back.
Pics:
The Supra sitting in the police parking lot, waiting for cops to arrive.
The most destructive damage took place on the driver's door lock. Maybe with a set of bolt cutters or something.
My rear windshied wiper blade was twisted off of the arm. It screams spite.
The stereo is gone. As is the mounting bracket. Not too many other cars it would work in I suppose.
The cops dusted and printed as much of the car as possible.
Cliff notes:
-The Supra was found the next day
-I was alerted and formulated a plan to get it back
-Cops suck
-I stole it back
-I waited for the police to arrive at the station to complete the paperwork
-I have the Supra, awaiting my sparetime
The Story:
So you know that the car was stolen from my possession in the broad day light of morning. That was ballzy. I continued with life the next day as though nothing happened because reality says that I have to be able to handle worse situations (accident). I actually finished work way early. I was home by 3pm. A local Supra enthusiast (lets call him Mr. Enthusiast) alerted me by phone that he knew of a possible sighting in his town. So I geared up to go and take a look.
I enlisted the help of a friend in the event that if I got the Supra back, I wouldn't have to leave behind another vehicle.
So we take off to meet Mr. Enthusiast up near the sighting location. I get dropped off just outta sight, all dressed like a local. I took over a corner, and with my flashy cell phone, began acting like a dealer. Over the phone, mind you! lol.
I called the police so I can do things right. I waited over 20 minutes. So eventually, with potential witnesses gone, I took off down the street towards the Supra at a casual pace, walking on the opposite sidewalk. I noticed that no one was around. No pressure.
Closer and closer with each step, my heart pounded with anticipation. Would there be any conflicts? No. I crossed the street, all my attention focused my love, the Supra. Nothing is going to stop me at this point.
Seeing that the windows were down, I took a chance that doors were unlocked too. Yes, but the F.U.B.A.R. job on the driver's handle denied me the crisp quick clean entrance. I had to pull twice to get'er open, the wack job was that damaging.
Immediately I sit down and note that the chair had been adjusted. I was clearly a much smaller person. No matter. Shove my key in the ignition and turn, for a 4 crank start up. Another gamble pays off, theres nothing wrong with my engine. Screw the warm up period, I back up a bit and take off in first, all bad on the turbo, but maybe this is why I think ahead and leave another with MDCmotorsports lol.
Damn, my adrenaline's just pumping, I get into second and try to think where the police station is. I end up making a few rights. I get right back onto the same street I took the Supra back from. Screw it, I fly through in high third, a mocking to the locals that this car is MINE!
Eventually I notice that the gas is just about on empty. So I high tail it to the police station. What do you think I did next? Park and walk inside? Hell naw, I won't let this girl outta my sight. I find the employee's parking lot and start honking. Not a damn soul. I'm about to leave, when I notice someone making their way to the exit gate. So I cut them off, T- bone style.
It was a lady. I get out of the Supra and walk over to her window, which has by now been rolled down in confusion and curiosity. I introduce myself and inquire her purpose at the station. A dispatcher she says. Okay, I tell her whats going on, and she says to call dispatch back and tell them to send an officer to the lobby parking lot where I'll be waiting. Right on, so I let her go and hop into the Supra. I get a phone call and tell my support where to meet me at, then I hang up and drive to the parking lot.
I park square in the middle, as seen in the first picture.
By the time I start to take in what all had happened to the Supra, Mr. Enthusiast arrives and we go over my car without touching it, to scope out details.
And this is where I take about 30 pics. I've selected the important pics already, cuz most of them are really just new dings/scratches or filth of different kinds left in/on my car. I even have FOOTPRINTS on my car. One looks like the POS closed my passenger door with their shoe.
A strange detail: I left all my tools and maintainence gloves in the car, but none were missing. Gloves for medical usage. The kind that would make my car perfect for hitting a bunch of other cars later. Whatever. And the engine bay was UN touched! I need to do a better inspection, but I drove home fine.
I did add a quart of oil, so they drove quite hard, in order to empty my 3/8 tank. Anyways, all is well and I have a lot of work to do before this bitch tears up the road again.
And once again, I appreciate the community's care support, and interest.
