I was thinking of starting a new thread about the hidden switch thing, but since this one was revived from almost a year ago and got really off topic about secret switches, I just posted here.

I was also bored and read the whole thread. Yes he got the car back. F'd up bumper, no gas, coolant, sitting on the rotors, etc.

HAHA!!!!

I actually have a switch that turns off my fuel pumps... So at night, or if I leave for a few days, I turn the switch off... It's hidden, in plain sight too, lol... Im also going to be putting a second switch in that shuts off my fuel injectors... It's going to be spliced in line with the fuel injector fuse wires... :) I dont think you can be too safe...

But right now, I dont have to worry about anyone stealing her... *see pic* lol...

I like the idea of the Clutch pedal switch. If a thief went to start it even with the clutch in when you had this switch off it would just not do a thing. Has anyone done this yet? a write-up on this would be awesome.
How does the ECU sense that the clutch is pressed to turn the engine over, what would that sensor/wire be called? I'm definetly going to be looking into this.

well it sounds straightforward...its just a button... use wiring magic to either move that one or ad another one in the same loop so you have to depress both... but use your own special way so nobody knows exactly what you did...i dont think a writeup it quite necesary for this...i'd want one on the fuel pump.

And yes i used the search function and didn't erally realise i was waking up a freaking mummy thread... i'd say sorry but it seems like its active enough to be beneficial.

I think something better then the kill switch is a removeable steering wheel via quick release hub. So therefore, even if they get the car started, there's no way they're gonna get anywhere, except for if they just happen to have a steering wheel that will fit your hub, but then again, who the hell would be carrying around one anyways?

The statement "you can never be too safe" is absolutely correct. Fuck the switches, relays, and radio plugs....
My car is now completely un-stealable, and as such, I feel I will have great success in keeping it for a long time.

I can do this mod for anyone who would like me to do it. I will need paid room and board for about a month, and $1000 up front in cash.

Old thread I know but I was wondering how they got past the factory alarm starter kill? And any aftermarket alarm worth it's salt has one.

Anyway, here's how I deal with theft (and car jacking) assuming they get past the alarm. First, any time the car is started it triggers a timer that expires in two minutes unless the seat belt is fastened *and* a certain factory provided button in the car is pressed. Once that's done if the seat belt is removed *and* the driver's door opened the timer is again triggered.

If the timer expires in either case the car shuts down and won't start again until the key is removed and reinserted. On the next start the timer is again triggered the same way as before. They may steal it but they won't get far. These functions can be easily bypassed but I usually leave them on. The system also serves as a turbo timer.

I'm pretty sure on my car they used a shaved key, since my door lock was a little weird and after the theft my keys could come out of the ignition cylinder and they didn't do that before.

I use a kill switch on that car now, but the CPS has been broken for 4 months so it's not going anywhere.
