stock alarm disableing ignition?????

i have a 87 n/a supra and i have a problem.
the car wont turn over
but the stock alarm i think is disableing the ignition no clicks or anything.
someone please help!!!!!

Try keying the driver's door open and closed 4 or 5 times in a row. Iirc, it will reboot the factory alarm. gl.

If that doesn't work, try the passenger side lock, it's possible the slipring on the driver's side lock cylinder is worn. If it is, chances are the passenger one isn't.

Also, if your cel is not lighting, check your efi fuse.

I chose to make a jumper wire instead of cutting wires, but either way, its about a 30-45 min job.

However, that may not be the issue. Your starter may be stuck. Try hitting it with a small hammer or an adjustable wrench. I was amazed by how poorly the rebuilt starters work in our cars. If hitting it works, save time and money and just buy a new starter from toyota.

i have one more question
i touch my driver side handle and the alarm goes off.
i need to get rid of this pos alarm system.

Follow ZoomZoom's advice. Remove the alarm via the instructions in the thread he listed. I had this exact problem on sunday. 30 mins later... no alarm, no problem. I just grounded the blue wire with the orange stripe to the steering column. The box you are after is right above the steering column. That part is not well explained in the TSRM diagram. Really easy and simple to do. I tried everything before removing the alarm, driver's door, pass door, removing the battery for 30 mins, even Z's 'special' instructions. Removing the alarm was the easiest fix.

i gotta good question, now that we have taken out the stock alarm system and chances are most of us are running turbos and have turbo timers are there any special kinds of switches that we could use as kill switches so we can still walk away as the turbo timers do their stuff or are we doomed to having our cars stolen if someone decides they like how they look?

You're doomed.

What are you asking? You took out the alarm. What security system do you have now?
The tt has a kill wire you connect the emergency brake.
And in case you want to know; You remove the accessory connection of the tt and that *would have* allowed the stock alarm to still arm.

My alarm (stock, which has worked flawlessly for 22 years btw) can be armed after the turbo timer is activated. Not that I use the timer these days because there's no need but if I do it's transparent to the alarm system. Simply push the headlight washer button then get out and lock the doors any of three ways: handle, key, or remotely. Then walk away. Even though my TT was scratch built it's still simple to do with an aftermarket one.
