still going to be twice as hard to turn the wheel...

Are we sure about this??

Seriously, I know it's 2to1 ratio over stock, but does that necessarily mean that it's going to be twice as much effort to turn the steering wheel?

I would be greatly surprised if thee were not other variables that come into play on this.

IJ: When you drove cars equipped with this setup did the steering wheel effort double?

Dying to know.

If your looking to weave around a corner.. buddy your in a Supra, whatu think you got a LSD and a right pedal for? And if you don't got a LSD, hold your ebrake button in, and jerk the ebrake then drop it and flooring it at the same time. You drift :D

I take advantage of my LSD :)

Very confused this is my first post in this thread?

:icon_conf Sorry IJ. My bad. But if you do know anything about the quick steer or the like, I'd love to hear your opinion on this.

It was Jeff who posted that he had at least some familiarity with the quick steer. Was hoping to get some detail on what he thought about it (ratio that would likely work best on the street... etc).

my old mk3 kept throwing the PS belt so I never kept it on. after awhile you get used to it, and once you're moving you don't notice it.. just parallel parking was a bitch. I'd say go for it and let us know, if not i'll be looking into it myself here shortly sounds pretty good.

just looked at the product and from what i can tell its a simple gearing box. so as I understand

You're traveling Half the distance, but TWICE as much effort to travel the distance. its a swap.. 1/2 distance, x2 the effort. and PS has nothing to do with this as far as I can tell. PS will work the same as before, its taking the Output of the box and putting it to the wheels. the EFFORT you're exerting is going into the box. so in conclusion. picture turning ur wheel 1/4 and multiplying it by 2. (i can turn my steering wheel with 1 finger.. now i have to use 2 :naughty: )

you can also put it on the other way and make it take half the effort to turn, but double the rotations...

might help you guys without PS...

I think I will start planning for this.

What do you guys think 2to1 or 1.5to1? I'm just wondering if 1.5to1 is gonna be enough of a difference to justify this mod, or will I wish I had gone 2to1?

Yeah, it's hard to really know what is going to be to radical for the street. On one hand I'd like it to turn with less imput, but on the other hand I don't want to change 3 lanes if I sneeze.
