i'm not sure i follow you guy's with this pedal stop.do you guy's think putting more play in the pedal will help.i probably can't add to much more play without making it hard to go in gear.sorry for the thread jack,i've never heard about this before.thanks for the replie's and input on this.

I had this issue of over travel with my OSGiken twin, they only need a small amount of throw for a clean release.

I considered adding a pedal stop but took the lazy option and adjusted the Clutch pedal lower to the floor so it acted as the stop then adjusted the brake pedal to match it's height.

End of problem.

LOL, Duane, was commenting on if it would hold the power ;)

Adjusting the pedal properly is needed on ANY clutch install. Idiot shop that did mine had tons of pre-load on the master and it would slip on the highway. That was the second time, the first time it overextended the slave and popped the seal. This was with a normal stock install...

thanks for the insight ian.i can't see it leak when the clutch is pressed, but never tried it with the motor running.what's the chance the bearing is still good?
i'm going to add some more play, see if i still loose fluid.

I barely drove mine today, I barely push it in & it releases so i can shift gears, Seriously!! I',m pressing about 1 inch!! im gonna take in to Sound Performance to get a pedal stop or get my shit adjusted the right way, I dont wanna blow the throw-out bearing, Spec needs to update this design, I got the 1000ftq clutch & Sean told me it might be a lil noisy, SHIT this thing is quiet compared to my QuarterMaster twin disk for my Glant VR4, I love it!!! I just hope the bearing don't shit on me....

Fill it up you may have lucked out annular throwout bearings can return over the seal and work fine it's just they get a big gulp of air into the system and people think they're shot.

I'd also buy a big can of "brakleen" and spray it in there carefully washing from the top down to clean out as much fluid as I could so it doesn't get on to the friction materials.

can u explain what problem u were having ian?

i dont seem to be having any dramas.

(apart from not bedding in the syncros properly when i replaced em so now number 2 and 3 are fucked after a 3rd gear standstill)

the clutch still works like a dream and it look's like the fluid just run's down the bellhouising.it doesn't appear to get the pressure plate wet at all.i hoping it's ok.thanks for sharing your experiance with this

When I had it adjusted to the stock pedal height it would overtravel the fingers on the pressure plate and sound like a coffee grinder.

I did the same, Pedal is about 1 1/2 from the floor, It releases fine, I test drove the car & went Full throttle, Hopefully the bearing is happy.

Oh don't lie!

I bet you would want to be pulling that tranny weekly! It is the passion of the Supra owner! Fixing the broke!

No!!! that's why i dumped all my DSMs.... I broke way to many of them & i wasn't cheap on the parts either, My supra lasted way longer than a DSM ever did, Put it this way, I can drop a DSm tranny in 15 minutes, It takes me about 2 minutes to reinstalled another (not replacing clutch, Just tranny swap) Onto the block, People spend hours trying to put it back in, People use tranny jacks, I swear i can pick them up by hand & half way install it....
Damn dsm.... They were fun.... Supra is funner!!!! I can do burnouts!!!:naughty:
