now the weird thing is i went to unlock my car door and the alarm went off

I had the same problem a few years ago. Turns out it was the Theft Deterrent System which does interrupt the starter relay circuit when it has been tripped. Note that the car would start if I rolled it down a grade and popped the clutch. If you can do this (I notice you have a 5-speed) you can forget your CPS concerns. This happened to me several times and I finnally rolled it and drove straight to Toyota. They put me on to the fact that the alarm contacts in the doors can sometimes cause this. The fix for me was to re-Lock and Unlock both doors (do rear the hatch too) with very slow and definite turns of the key, no quick flicks here. It seems to happen when you are in a hurry and give the key a quick shot to unlock the car. It almost never happens anymore since I understand the problem. I never did replace anything. Hope this helps.

What type of wire would you suggest to rewire the CPS with? Speaker wire, regular wire, usb wire?

Your starter problem might be the starter contacts, or if it was like mine, a corroded starter wire from the ignition. There's a MK3 faq on SF about this. Or your alarm might be tripped, try locking and then unlocking your doors to see if this might be it.

that is it i think...If the car is locked and i unlock the driver side with the key the alarm goes off. If i lock it and shut the door and unlock with the key it will open with no alarm sounding. But if i repeat it again the alarm sounds. It seems like every second time it goes off. I tried unhooking the battery terminal and replacing it, but the alarm goes off when i reattach it. Is there a way around this?

the alarm goes off when i put the key in the ignition. But if i remember correctly if the alarm goes off it should turn off when i put the key in the door and unlock it.

the door sensor is screwed up for the alarm. you have a few options here. you could get a new (or used) sensor, put it in, and call it a day, or try unlocking it from the passenger side door, and see if it still happens.

if you'd like to completely disable the stock alarm system, here's how:

also, if you take the blue wire with the orange strip that i mentioned in the above link, and put a switch between it and the ground you choose, you can use that as a starter kill switch, just like i did. :)

Thanks shaeff how much of a pain in the ass is it to get under the dash. Do i have to remove anything to get to the computer. Does the computer only have that one wire going to it or are there more?

Just based on what little I know of the stock alarm, I would open the hood, shut the doors and lock them with the key, then unlock with the key, get in and then try to start it. Having the hood open should keep the alarm from arming. If it still will not start I would bypass it like Shaeff pointed out. But I know very little about the alarm so I could be way off.

Tried that no go and you are right it doesn't look like it sets when you have the hood open...But, i don't know it still won't start. Man i am so frustrated.

The wires are under the dash. Look at the link Shaeff posted and then look at the link in that link, haha, but it will show you where to look

I tried taking the panel off under the steering column and it didn't seem to come of easy although i didn't spend much time with it. I took off the 4 screws and bent it down to see and i have no idea how to get to them

What i can't understand though is even when the alarm sounds and i put in the key in the ignition and turn it, the alarm goes off, meaning the alarm is disabled so it should start. I think maybe this isn't the only issue.
