gday all, im new to thhis forum n have owned a mk3 86.5 7mge 5spd for bout a week now, anyway i have some questions...

1) roughly what should my car pull down the quater mile being stock with a k&n filter?

2) what things could i remove or change on my supra to lose weight? (i know the obvious spare wheel back seets)

3) if i was going to wack on a turbo, do i need to strenthen the engine in anyway e.g forged pistons etc...

thanks guys

depeneds if its gonna be driven on the street. (or if u don't care if u die in a crash or not... lol)
u can remove the bumper supports... alot of weight there. but if u crash, u die
rear seat, passenger seat, interior, sound dampening material, spair tire.
Light weight rims helps alot too

#3 if u want to make good power, yes.
or swap for a 7MGTE

sound deadining is the crap under the carpet. it looks like tar that was melted and poured on the floor of the car. use a small hammer and hit it lightly a few timesand it should come up pretty easy. saves you 42lbs. bumper supports are the steel reinforcers behind the bumpers.

thanx eviltwin,

in a couple weeks i will be taking the supra down to the local dragstrip to see what it can do as it is, it has the stock LSD but sometimes one leggers... when i do my burnout before the race is there any method i should use to light em up or anything, also will it be likely to one legger when i pull my burnout???
cheers

I'd keep the bumper reinforcment up front,it's designed for safety. But you can remove the carpeting, replace the drivers seat w/ a race version, take out the cruise control, and whatever you think might be holding you down
