Some fagget at work thinks his stock 1.8 T Jetta will "smoke" my (other supra) 89 5 speed targa stock. My actual supe is 87 auto hard top but I'm using 89 for a while, anyways he saw me hop into my supe and he runs to his car to catch up to me and hes over here honking and giving me these gay hand signals to race him but I baby my car and when I push it I feel like I'm hurting it. Anyways tomorrow I'm gunna show him whats up on the highway. You guys have any info on these girl cars anyways. Honestly i think his car has potential but I don't know any info like if they blow up when they reach a certain horsepower or if they have no top end or whatever. Do you guys know anything? Either way hes going down.

here some real info im a vw guy too they got 180 crank hp stock. they are heavy but not as heavy as our cars. if his car is doing 200 crank hp then you might want to be careful. your also on an auto tranny, is he, if not he will get a little more on you there too. I dont know he might be able to get you but it would be close. i would say try slapping on a few easy parts before you go just to be sure. also why not make him come out to a local track then you dont hve to worry about getting caught and you know the traction surface is good and if its that close there will still be no denying who won.

Thanks for the info bro, I actually do have some mods that I havn't put on yet because I was taking care of maintenance first which I've finished a while ago now actually.

np those vws can get fast it just takes way to much money to make them do it thats why i got the supra easy(er) hp with less money fucking $30+k just in performance parts to get the vw up to 600 whp with a awd convertion (i have big plans for that car but i must wait til im rich lol)

Same basic engine in the TT is rated at 225hp. So it's not that hard to turn up the power with basic mods.

What kind of car is it? If your racing some dude in a GTI with the 1.8T, it's basicly the TT motor right? Your going to get smoked unless you have some mods to your Supra.

Ask him to show you what he's done to his car, and then pay attention. If you see hard pipes, better intake and larger exhaust, it's going to have similar effects to what the same mods do for the Supra. (Better power with better breathing on either car.)
If the turbo is upgraded, or from another model like the TT for example, then he will be making over 200 at the wheels, and in a lighter car, his 200 will be a very good match for 300 or so in the Supra. (AKA, the TANK CAR.)

all it takes is chip tuning for the gti engine to run the TT numbers. my 92 gti clone is 2400lbs with me in it the newer ones are quite heavier i estamate around 3000 but i nt sure i like mk2 vw's not mk4. has anyone seen the turbo on the vw 1.8T it looks like i could use it on a dirtbike very small so im thinking instant boost with little lag. i did drive a 337edition (not 337hp) let me tell you its no slouch i was doing 100mph before i had time to look down at the speed-o getting on the freeway. so yea check his parts before anything. if he has a good list i'd say you need a good list of parts as well.
