sogi shift mod

hey, i'm thinkin about doin it. is there any pics of the broken off shaft? how do i get a shift knob on it? do i have to rethread it? any pics or info would be cool

i'm using the MOMO anatomic short shift knob

i got an extra sogi modded shifter. if you want it, pm me and shoot me an offer.

break the stick in two, take the top half to the hardware store, get the correct size die, cut threads in the lower part (you have to cut it a little shorter- many people don't like it that short)

or-

weld the stock threads back on top. :)

yo soulstar you got any pics of it in the car? is it modded so it sits stright up and down on neutral? is it tapped? am i gonna need a shift knob with set screws?

ill take some pictures tonight when i get home. it's exactly the same as stock just shorter [[i never had a problem with it "sitting straight up" on the old car, don't quite know what youre talking about]]...no tape..yes you will, i am using the momo anatomic short shift knob..will post pics later of the one in my car...i recieved my shift boot and e brake boot from empera today so i gotta switch out the stock ones

lets not turn this into a yay or nay sogi mod thread, i've already read through those. i'm doin the mod and had a couple questions.

so all i do is break off the top and then get a die and thread the tip of it?

okay no bs. i had a sogi and now using a mookeh. i like the sogi because it is angle better, the mookeh has a shorter throw. and i chopped it shorter. anything with a raised pivot point is better and even better if its angle right

The only problems I had with the SOGI mod were grinding into third gear, but that was due to tired synchros in the transmission. I'm pretty sure that I will have no more issues with a rebuilt transmission and sogi shifter.
