SOGI mod, cut and weld thread or tap new shift stick?

MK2 is definitely the same as MK3.

Update:
Lug nuts are 12x1.5
Shift knob is 12x1.25

Just checked with both in my hand.

But if you did the sogi mod and left the black outer piece off then you may need a 10x1.5 or what ever knob your going to use.

It's 1.25, at least an old shifter I still have is. Thread gauges are wonderful things...

Definitely 12x1.25.

Reading this thread made me cringe a bit, not sure why I ever said it was 1.5.

One more reason to never trust anything you see on the internet, as if you needed another reason.
