^^^ its about time you chimed in... So, I know the flywheel is a goner, unless they can resurface all the hairline cracks out of it... But as far as the pressure plate, can I get a local machine shop to do it, or is it one of those things where I hafta send it to ACT to have done?

Get a new flywheel regardless. Heat caused the cracks which as we all know is a bad thing. If you surface the flywheel, there will probably be a lot taken off in order to get beyond the cracks. If you're adding more power, there will be more heat & less material to absorb the heat. You'll have more headaches if you stick with what you have.

Anyone with a surface grinder and a rivet press can do it Jake!

They have to dissassemble it to surface the casting.
