Because I'm a college kid with little money and I lack(ed) a lot of mechanical experience to trust myself with a turbo motor.

I plan on running this N/A to its death, whenever that may be.

I feel MUCH, MUCH more comfortable working on these even after only 7 months. Hell, I've taken care of BHG, swapped out clutch and tranny and done tons of other things on this car.

Once I have more money and a real job after school, I will DEFINITELY buy a turbo Supra. I won't mind rebuilding a motor if I need to. :)

Well my story is.. I had a disagreement with someone(several) on this board that a N/A could make 300hp to the rear wheels! Me being bull headed refused to give up. I've had several turbo cars two of which where Supras. All my friends are turbo guys. So I'm the joke at all our functions. The fastest is now the slowest! That "Mythical Supra"! Sell all that junk and buy an Evo! It goes on and on. I have always known that a turbo Supra was the best bang for your buck. But the guy who didn't or couldn't buy one should not feel any less because he doesn't have a turbo car. So I said I'll build one to the hilt to see what you can really get out of a N/A. The 300hp to the wheels has been done already, Bugwugger did that. With less than what I have, so why keep going? I feel I owe you guys (N/As) that "What if car"!

every Car except 2 that i have owned.. were turbo'd.. all supras i owned aside one were turbo'd...

I decided to take a step back, really think about it.. and realise what a douche i was for spending 1,500 in parts for a NA, when i could have gotten a complete 1j TT w/ tranny harness ecu ignitor and all accessories for 1,000 flat.

Any who.. i have done alot of thinking and its a possibility i will stay N/A with THIS supra.. personally i prefer boost but what i got is what i got.
Once funds save up, it may become a fairly stock 1UZ with BPU.

When i bought my most recent red supra (NA auto) i got a good deal.. and the paint / body was in SUPERB shape as well. I thought to myself.. well i mostly drive over mountainy windy roads,, so i only really need 200 + - HP to pull my ass through the corners.

I was aiming to make this supra, my mountain dominator, to rape all the celi's and other sports cars on the mountains. ( a suspension / handling car )

Now ive shifted my sights over to my MK2 (it didnt get owned by punk ass bitches) and it will be my DD / performer 6mgte)

I love turbos.... just dont have one right now... its not bothering me a whole bunch though.

You should really get an mr2t if youre looking to dominate the turns. The mr2 NA is good for cornering but not mountain/uphills, just too slow. I really wish i hadnt gotten into an accident in my mr2, that car made me smile around every turn. I wasnt even that experienced with driving it and didnt push it too hard but that car is just so light and small it was so much fun.... After it was totalled i purchased my NA supra. It works, and im too young to have a turbo, especially with my insurance now. I miss that mr2 so much though..... 110 hp to the wheels and it still made me happy...

I come from a land down under
I was NA for many many years as I actually used my car to drive ;)

Since it's been Turbo it runs maybe a month a year the rest of it is spent developing parts to replace failed parts.

Insurance is a cop out excuse. I checked with my insurance company.(AAA BTW)

Insurance on a 1989 Toyota supra NA with a Targa is MORE expensive than an 89T Hardtop. Just because toyota called it a sports roof hahaha

The general consensus is that N/A owners are broke initially, while turbo owners are ok at first but then become broke. Haha.
