Got a lot done this weekend. Drivetrain is out and most of the bay is stripped with the exception of a few plasitc clips and the windshield wiper motor. The piece of crap 7M has soaked everything in oil over the past 16 years. Believe it or not, my son jsnow and I cleaned the bay for about two hours with a pressure washer and degreaser on Saturday morning prior to pulling the engine. No worries though, this car will never ever, ever see another 7M motor :) It is going to take a whole weekend of degreaser and suds to be ready for paint. Thanks go out to tissimo and reaper for lending a hand on saturday afternoon pulling the motor.

92 is well worth all of that work. CONGRATS!

Lemme know if ya need some info/advice on getting that 2J engine/wiring in there.

Yeah, Texas is a no show for me this year. I will be there next year though, if I am done :)

Yeah, this one was in Jacksonville but it still didn't make it home before throwing a rod. Tissimo bought the one in Boston, it didn't make it home either...lol

Do you seriously expect me to believe that you bought a 7m and it developed rodknock? Next thing you know you'll be telling me that gas prices are on the rise...........:sarcasm:

Well the engine and trany are officially gone :)

My dad and I spent a good couple of hours just cleaning the engine bay. Then tissmo, reaper, csnow and myself pulled the engine in like an hour and a half, boy it was a bloody mess, oil was just everywere. Pic's will be coming hopefully by tomorrow.

didn't take much time at all since you guys all ready ripped out 95% of the stuff on top.

lmk when we need to trailer it to baba's for paint..

True true, yea we still have to do alottt of cleaning before paint. So it should be awhile, I was actually planning on doing some cleaning tomorrow since I don’t have school because of some surgery(nothing major, shouldn’t really be called surgery)

Yeah, the car is very clean. You would have bought it. Justin got a good deal on it, but with airfare and having to get a Uhaul, it would have been cheaper if he would have contracted a carrier. I would never trust a used car buy with a 7M for 1300 miles. Heck, mine only made it 70 miles

These before picture actually have about 2 hours of cleaning prior to pulling the motor. The engine bay was literally black from all the oil and coolent that was everywhere.

Yeah, it was a huge mess. The rack is very clean but I am replacing it with the PPS rack out of my 89. I replaced it about 2 years ago, so I am going to migrate it over.
