Small update

Remember I got a good deal on a set of factory shock absorbers in a really great condition-so I bought them and we put them in

Car feels now like we are in a Truck or something :icon_bigg ---ride height is much higher now -but for the winter time I will keep her like that...

When winter will be over I will upgrade my KONIs and they will go back in with new springs and she will be lowered also...

I have a few ongoing projects on the car now

Hope to have these upgrades soon and I will try to take pictures and post them up....

So stay tuned folks :biglaugh:

Hi all

Sorry I did not update my thread a long time...

I didn't have any problems till January 2010-used her every day -enjoyed every moment

Here it is winter now and we got large amount of snow many times

Got tired cleaning her every day. They did not clean the streets so it was really hard to move so she stayed and had a good 2 week rest

And guess what -my starter died so we have to tow her in ,and drove her to my old friend(he is over 30 years in business)-he made a full restoration on the starter again (second time since she is with me) -so now she starts without any issues any time in really cold days also--Hurray :icon_razz

We also installed a greddy turbo timer

I will try to post some new pictures up soon

So

Stay tuned Folks

I will ask him what the full setup is now ,because it changes really often

His base is a 1JZ with one single (if I remember right some kind of Garret turbo) big turbo, Motec or Vems (some kind of standalone engine management system),it 's on race gas ,Big aftermarket intercooler...
Thats what I know now

I will post some pictures up tonight

We have a guy here who is an expert in programming the standalones(but he is the only one here who can do the job without issues so it is way too expensive ....)-he did this one also...

Happy to see your car is ALIVE.....

Absolutely

Right now the air is coming in beside the turbo timer

I was thinking to put 2 stickers there-but i am sure there is a better way to block...

If anybody has a good idea please share it ...

Thanks

Hi guys

Small update

On Saturday we put the summer tires on (Good Year Eagla F1) now it is much better
Hate to have winter tires on over 6 Celsius...

Yesterday we changed the oil , oil filter ,air filter
I love this oil-trust me this is the best for our cars
MOTUL (300 series ) 15-50

We also changed the spark plugs and guess what -my spark plug wires are almost dead
After we put the new spark plugs in my idle is normal (around 900 rpm) -but I feel that the wire is gone causing small missidle

So I need to get a new set of spark plug wire fast
One is on the way already good NGK one...Hopefully arrives tomorrow and we will change it right away

We also raised the turbo pressure yestarday from 0,3 Bar to 0,8...Feels much better
I haven't got a chance to test it really (overcrowded city) so weekend comes soon and I will try it out (hope won't reach fuel cut-at this stage I shouldn't)

I will keep you posted so

Stay tuned folks

Hi all

Small update for today

I got my brand new -never used blue NGK spurk plug wire set and installed them on Friday....

On the weekend we had a 500 km long trip with the Supra

She is more than interesting

I have timing issues i am sure in that
When we stop ,and the motor is just running it feels like that one cylinder misses

We did nothing so I really don't understand why she is doing it

Tha rpm stays at 900 as it should be ,but I feel it misses...
On boost it tugs/drags sometimes-but it is not like when it is caused by the AFM -i know that kind of problem and this is now totally different....It feels like my motor is not running as smoooth as it was before (maybe it is dieing because of hogh pressure-she doesn't like it or what???....)

We changed only oil , spark plugs and the wire set and raised the turbo pressure to 0,8 bar...

If anybody have any idea what this problem can be , please help me out

Next I will try to take her to an ignition adjustment after that we will see what happens...

So stay tuned and if anyone had the same please help me out

Hi all

Yesterday I did a small research on the site and found out that my problem (timing issue) is caused by spark plugs

She doesn't like the ones we put in....

So I ordered a set of NGK BKR8EIX 2668 spark plugs .They will be here on Friday(latest) and we will install it right away and see what happens

I will take my camera with me this time to fill this thread again with pictures

So stay tuned folks

And thanks for watching

Hi all

Time to come up with the pictures as I promised
So got my new set of blue NGK spark plug wire -so we throw them in

newspurkplugwiresgoingi.jpg

And done

ngkbluewiresin.jpg

Car was still not ok so when I received my new set of NGK spurk plugs , we throw them in also right away

mynewsetofsparkplugs.jpg

mynewngkspurkplugs.jpg

So lets get the old ones out and put these sweeties in

sparkplugsout.jpg

And put her back together

anddone.jpg

Now we thought it is over but guess what
Still acts the same

So we checked the codes now and she throw code 24---(AFM)
Got a spare one luckily when i ordered my lexus house (wish to do the lexus upgrade with bigger injectors--sparing money...)

myspareoneonalexushouse.jpg

Come closer

comecloser.jpg

So lets get the fuse out

fusionout.jpg

Lets remove the old one

afmoff.jpg

We measured the old and the new one also
The old one shows 1,75 k Ω the new one 3,75 k Ω
Regarding the trsm it should be around 4,7 so the new one should work
We put her on and we oput the fuse back
fusionbackin.jpg

Lets check the codes again
nomorecodes.jpg

No more code 24--byebye

Car sounds much better--we got a lot of rain here so I will hopefully have an opportunity to test her on the upcoming weekend(hate to push her in rain)

So after the test run I will get back to you so

Stay tuned folks

Guess what

On my way home from work last Friday -the check engine light , the oil check light and the accumulator light popped up together
Scared the shit out of me

Its some kind of alternator problem....

Looks like my alternator died or it can be the fuse

It is pretty hard to get a 100 A fuse for the supra but I ordered it and it is on its way

I am also trying to find a used alternator in a good working order--wish me luck please

Hi all

Update time

The new 100 Ah fuse I ordered , arrived

1mynewfuse.jpg

I found a used alternator in a good working order

2mynewalternator.jpg

So we changed the fuse and the alternator
New fuse installed

4newfuseinstalled.jpg

And the new alternator went in also

5andthenewonein.jpg

We also did a fast front wheel adjustment

6afastadjustment.jpg

And guess what -problem solved
We measured 14.8 with the new on ,after putting all the receivers on (turned on everything) it still showed 12,8 so it is GOOD
She also acts much better on the road after our small adjustment...

---------- Post added at 01:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:24 PM ----------

After everything is ok I thought it is time for a photoshoot
So she got a nice wash and now up with the pictures
