How did I miss this? What year is that thing? I don't think we ever got the wagons, that is an E7x chassis, right?1jz-Rolla;1856558 said:My Corolla wagon:
Err... someone correct me if I'm wrong, but your filter looks like it might be on backwards from any that I've ever seen...1jz-Rolla;1856558 said:

3" or 4"...part #?1jz-Rolla;1856732 said:Nah mate, this is the one, from K&N:
You just might be my new favorite member, for reasons that should be obvious, at least to you. Does anyone down there do anything "normal"?1jz-Rolla;1856729 said:Yep its a 1984 AE71 chassis. Actually a 2 seater panelvan originally from Japan (with steel panels in the rear), but I converted it with Japanese 2 door Wagon glass to make a 2 door window van
Lots of fun, 328kw at the wheels, and 10 second quarter mile. Used it for hillclimbs, motorkhanas and track days as well.

Weird air filter by the way, never seen one like that.
Hmm, you might be on to something. Must be the accents... Speaking of which, Sick Puppies is coming to town in a couple weeks... :naughty:IJ.;1857446 said:You Slut!
you say that to all the Aussies
Cool as it may be, it's still not a Corolla Wagon, which would basically been as uncool as possible when it came out, or when I was in high school...89niner;1857458 said:I guess engine swaps in Toyota pickups are too common to be cool, even though I have the cleanest engine bay out of any of them out there. And it runs! Zero problems, extremely fun.
Err... at first I was thinking 1jz for some reason (the amount of posts in here about them perhaps), then I got to thinking 1uz (because you know, Toyota)... but then you start talking carbs and Keith Black, Comp parts, and a 4.3 turbo engine? With push rods? Only thing that comes to my mind was the 4.3l that was in the Syclone and Typhoon GM trucks back in the day. Am I right there?89niner;1857826 said:Post #101 but I'll post them again. Pictures posted are after new built engine was installed, you'll notice the brake booster not hooked up, label on fuse box slightly peeling and wiring not entirely dealt with. Issues have been addressed, I should probably take some new pictures lol. Engine Mods - 11.1 to 1 .060 over keith black pistons, full comp cams solid roller valve train (1.6 ratio roller rockers, comp roller cam, lifters, timing chain assembly), heads have been ported, edelbrock performer intake mani, Holley truck avenger 470 cfm carburetor, custom built distributor, custom headers. Engine is VERY responsive to say the least, factory 4.3 turbo engine vin Z, four bolt mains. A push rod engine built to run at 8000 rpm, doesn't mean I take it there. Truck is lifted 7 inches, custom spindles, T100 front drive axles.
You know, I think Akio Toyoda would be happy to meet a good number of us, if only for the passion to stick with the good, sporty cars they've built over the years (if not necessarily from a business case that he likes to sell new cars too). Never know though, a lot of factory swaps out there too, if ever only used in racing or one off concepts...1jz-Rolla;1857858 said:Cheers guys. Yeah its good fun to have something different, but painful at the same time, making something do things for which it was certainly not intended. Somehow I don't thing Mr Toyota had the kinds of engine conversions we choose in mind haha

If not, what is this thing? Sounds pretty awesome
