Well, I've had the car offline for a couple months, as usual for me when I decide to fix anything, I find more bits to upgrade or make shiny while it's down. Decided a couple weeks ago to dedicate some time to getting it back on the road, so it's time to bolt on some of the pretties.

Turbo exhaust side and downpipe have been ceramic coated black. Thermostat housing and sensors have been polished. The cruise control module is powder coated and came from Supraphat out in Alberta - it looks awesome. The coilovers kind of speak for themselves. :)

IMO those welds on the DP look like crap.

Lol at the welding engineer... I think you skipped a couple classes, let me help you.

Good welds have the correct amount of penetration while minimizing over heating on the material. Pretty welds don't make them strong or reliable.

Besides, who looks at the welds on your exhaust?

I stopped trying to polish the crap on my engine...

I may just get the stuff ceramic coated and then polished, then it might actually stay polished (my car isn't garaged and is a DD when it's up)

either that or powdercoated...

Actually im not a welding engineer..but i can see the cold lap and the start/stop marks. a little bevel insted of a but weld would have made them look alot flatter and nicer.

I guess being a ticketed welder and a ticketed millwirght means my "IMO" is wrong?

Also its not a matter of looking its a matter of you welds falling off in 1000 miles and kissing your exhaust goodbye.

IMO

Bevel on some thin walled exhaust piping? Thats just asking for burn through.

That is a BIC DDP. He has been making them for a while, and has plenty out on the roads. If any customer has had any issues with his parts im sure we would know about it, and he would change his parts accordingly.

You can express your opinion if you want, just be aware that when you rag on the community regulars (grimjack and BIC) some people might get defensive :p

looking good! now put them on!
Already done - those photos were literally just before bolting them back on.

If my DP was going to fall off in 1000 miles, it would have done so at least 50k miles ago, that is one of the first ones ever made. Solid engine mounts, no flex section, and about double the stock power levels don't appear to have made a difference, either. LOL - it's outlasted two engines and a turbo! :D

Nice! Yeah, I don't know where some of these guys are coming from about your dp. It looks perfectly fine to me. My ddp doesn't have a flex section either, I'm on stock motor mounts and have no problems.

I have so many parts to put on my car still it's not even funny. Lets just say that the entire suspension is no longer made by toyota. Next summer is going to be the engine/power build up!
