I'm pretty much in the same boat. I still have to schedule some time to drop the tank and put in a new fuel pump... and figure out somewhere for a catch can... and finish reupholstering the interior seats... and... well, you get the idea. :)

Actually im not a welding engineer..but i can see the cold lap and the start/stop marks. a little bevel insted of a but weld would have made them look alot flatter and nicer.

I guess being a ticketed welder and a ticketed millwirght means my "IMO" is wrong?

Also its not a matter of looking its a matter of you welds falling off in 1000 miles and kissing your exhaust goodbye.

IMO

bevel a 16 gauge piece of steel? Why? I suppose your criticism of the weld appearance is valid, however this is not a pressure containing pipe spool, it is an exhaust pipe - as long as it seals the pipe, it will generally work.

Very nice grim, the turbo looks purddy. Not a fan of shiny as its a PITA to keep looking good. i'm actually in the process of doing the exact opposit. painting everything i can get my hands on a nice low gloss black :D when i pull the motor i'll be rhino lining the engine bay :D but very nice work on the T-housing, 1hr isn't bad, hope it keeps the luster looks good. and as I was looking at the p ictures I was actually thinking to myself "those welds on that DP look good, i wan't" so my .02 looks great and I want one someday. i got a cheapy EBay w/ a flex section, but it works for now.
