I have no job LOL

Been cleaning up the engine bay re-routing hoses and wires for a cleaner look.
A/C delete, Water Pump is Electric so the pulley is an idler and can turn either way.

Wanted to get the P/S off the intake side to get it closer to the RHD steering box for shorter lines, gonna hide the p/s reservoir too, so the system will be invisible.

Required about 3 days of screwing around making brackets, trimming things and a shorter belt. It gave me something to do, but I wouldn't recommend doing it unless you really want to.

Final product is short p/s hoses, all hidden under the turbo intake tube, and the other side of the engine is clear so I don't have to do work under the intake manifold, which would be difficult in the car because it is a custom piece with Q45 throttle. The belt now contacts each pulley for over 180 degrees and fully wraps around each, which should eliminate any slippage. Looking at the photo, you can see that the belt wraps around the crank and tensioner, but only stops by on the other 4 pulleys for a brief moment.

We'll see how it performs in the car, but I don't see any difference from the OEM layout so I hope it is fine. Might have to re-arrange the belt a bit but things are good so far. Alternator and P/S still turn clockwise with the crank, the rest doesnt matter now with 2 ilder pulleys. Main leftover issue is the tensioner doesnt have grooves on it and the belt isn't upside down anymore when it passes over, that will take a bit of fiddling.

whyd you move the ps over there?

1. Bored
2. My intake manifold is huge and I wanted to keep that area uncluttered for working on
3. Car is right hand drive , now the ps pump is 12 inches from the steering box, not 5 feet, so I can use shorter, cleaner lines and etc.

Never had A/C when I was younger, used to living without it
My other car has A/C
Supra will be driven mostly at night, with the windows open

Someone tell these A/C delete kids that when it's turned off, it's just a idler pulley that takes zero HP to spin. Even if you have the A/C turned on, when you go WOT, the ECU turns it off.

Hey while you're at it, remove those seatbelts too. They are overrated.

A car without A/C is 100% worthless in the year 2007.

Jeez Ric, I really like your car, but it's tough to really like you when you seem more concerned about the temperature of Southern Florida than discussing modifications of Toyota cars. Perhaps you should join a weather forum. I am 2,800 miles north and west of you, and I don't want A/C, and it really doesn't get hot here. And when it does I open the windows or stay home. The engine didn't come with an A/C compressor, I sold the one that came with the car when I turfed the factory 2.5, and the system had barely any refrigerant left, and if I would go to the trouble of moving a pump for aesthetic reasons, I sure as hell would not keep a condensor, lines, and a/c compressor that I will never use hangin out chillin and doing nothing.

PS My Soarer which you commented as being overpriced is being picked up in 2 hours for the full aksing price.

Modifying a car in any way like for visual looks, performance, in car entertainment, any mod you do is supposed to IMPROVE the car. Removing A/C is not improving anything. If you want to clean up the engine bay, get a sandblaster and repaint the engine bay with some new automotive paint the color of the car (not black rustoleum rattle can), and about 5 coats of clear, and get rid of that stupid upper rad hose and get an aluminum one with the probe bung tigged in.

Let me guess dude, you're staying stock twins? LOL

This forum can be so lame sometimes. Instead of posts about how to improve the 1JZ and Supra scene with quality developments and technical articles, we get rednecks showing how they removed their A/C. Keep up the good work guys.

If i was mod of this forum this thread would have been deleted the second I read the word a/c delete. This is worse then a 3rd gen Camaro forum.

I can honestly say that I completely disagree with you and would like you to go away. If you were the mod of a forum, I would not be part of it.

The engine bay has been repainted. The stock twins are long since gone.

What is your issue?
It's Saturday, go to the beach or something?

The admins of any respectable forum would have to be insane to let you moderate anything.

My I start a petition for a ban here.

I have been threadcrapped in every discussion or for sale thread I have started.

Dear Ric:

Whoop-dee-do you have a used Lexus/Toyota with motor work. That describes most of the 5,598 Active members we have. When you go outside and do something different with your SC300, I'd love to read about it. Until then, please move on.

Ric does have a valid point. The only thing I disagree with is that it does improve one thing to remove A/C. It drops a small amount of weight and opens up a little space. Thats it. If you remove A/C hoping for a performance increase, it is the wrong reason.

I agree also. If I lived in the South, I would have perhaps made a different choice. But the engine didn't come with A/C anyways when I purchased it, so I spent my $ on parts, not retrofitting a/c. The point of the thread is that with a/c gone, and p/s moved, I have less weight, and tons of space. The other point was to show that I am bored, and am currently self-employed, so I don't have a lot to do, and this gave me a reason to get out of bed for the period of Monday thru Thursday.
