2. -10 is 10/16th of an inch, -10 pushlock hose hose will be closer to 9/16th ID.

ugh so confusing! the hose is his pictures says 5/8"(=-10 an ?) on it. doesn't this measure ID? and it also says its -10 an(=5/8"?) though, witch should measure OD. i just don't understand how the can be the same.

I come from a land down under
The hose is nominal -10 meaning it's to fit a -10 pushlock fitting (as I said for pushlock hose it's normally closer to -9) this is why genuine -10 non pushlock hose doesn't work as well and can come off as it needs to be a tight fit and have the reinforcement inside the hose layers so it can't swell and slip over the barbs.

As an example grab a piece of -10 silicone and put it on a barbed fitting, it'll blow off with about 30psi air pressure.

"Pushlock" is a system you can't just substitute any hose even if it's pressure and temp ratings are adequate.

- sizing usually refers to the OD of a piece of tubing expressed in 1/16th's of an inch but in the automotive world we bastardise it and use it for the ID of hose as well.
