Thats some funny shit. Thats not the first time I see a wheel painted by a good friend. But it sure is funny to see what your friends do when you leave paint cans unattended.

I got it mostly welded up.

Ive never done this type of thing before, and I have NEVER welded before in my life. this is just 3 days of practice. Its not perfect but I think it came out very good and im pretty proud of it :)

Just need to finish grinding it down and put some body filler on it. Its a good feeling to know that the rust is gone! Now I can finish all the body work

I'm sure you probably already know this, but whenever welding thin metal (such as body panels) you're supposed to go around tacking it in different places to give the metal a chance to cool before hitting the same area again...

...otherwise it'll warp.

Doesn't look bad for your first time.

Yeah, actually its all tack welds..There is no constant beads. I did 2 tacks on the top then one on each side to start then went around randomly and never did anything to one side and not the other.. Im lazy right now so im not sure if I'll get finished pics up or not, lol

Thanks

Ugh.... Ive been filling, sanding and priming all day... wtf..

I was hoping to get more primed but I had alot more body work than I though to do..

supra 028.jpg

WHAT RUST! haha! Im happy how this panel turned out :) BTW the targa is just up there as masking(its a junk piece as you can see the dents in the targa even from this angle..)

supra 029.jpg

My new 3PC tail lights! These things are near mint with no cracks or noticable scratches! There just dust right now from sanding. There also just loosely set in there dont mind the gaps..

supra 030.jpg

The other side..

supra 031.jpg

My new 89 Front bumper... I didnt prime this today because it needs some little pits filled in a few spots...

Hopefully my new rear and side skirts will come tomorrow and I can get those on too!

nice progress, I'm repairing some rust I found on my car. Just wanted to let you know to check for rust behind the vents in the door jams and behind the plastic guarding for the fuel piping in the passenger wheel well. Also the bottom plastic skirts between the wheel well and the door and underneith the plastic by the rear seats and underneith the rear speaker mounts. You probably have checked these spots but for anyone else reading this that is worried about rust, these are trouble spots. Some signs of rust include a wet rear seat and water in the quarter panels.

HaHa compared to the TE72, 1.8, and other old school cars, the supra definitely looks ugly without the Rear bumper :3d_frown:

Anyways, car is looking good... keep up the good work :bigthumb:

The car is just about ready for full primer/paint. I have all good body parts in my possesion now :)

I sold my 2JZ just yesterday.... :(

But dont worry..
1JZ swap from Jhot is being ordered in the next few days.

Once I get it into primer I'll get some more pics up :)

Still need:
89+ mouldings
wheels
BIC mounts(though, I may make my own)
Im sure alot of misc swap parts too...
