Damn, what that a total of five running MKIII's in that Lime Creek cruise at one time!? That's gotta be a record. Of course that was between two cities though.

A friend dropped by to show me his 2jzgte swapped 240 Yesterday. So I pulled it out of the garage. Other then that I wouldn't have touched it. But let me tell you a 2jzgte in a 240 is freaking scary!

Like, I could have the car running and without pushing the clutch pedal in, I can push the gear lever in 1st or 2nd and nothing happens. Just a 1-2 shift fork issue or a thrust washer? And if either of those, does that mean a rebuilt trans? (Have to take the trans out/apart to fix it?) Shifts into 3rd 4th and 5th regularly. Ha cant get it in reverse either, I previously could just put it in 1st then reverse but I cant do that anymore.... I didnt wanna make my own thread about it but I hoped maybe the san antonio guys may know/have a suggestion? Thanks!

dizzYflight;2012650 said:That's what I was starting to lean towards. I don't have the balls to open up the trans but I'll look around for some r154's.
Theres a w58 I found on the local classifieds. I haven't found a direct answer yet but i think all i need for the w58 to work is a flywheel from a 7m-ge. I see some guys have success with their w58's on the 7m-gte so I think i'm open to that. sorry thinking out loud here. I should just be patient and get a r154 or get the merlin forks and have a shop change em

Besides, it looks easy to do http://www.turboninjas.com/mk3supra/1990/indiv/14_MT.pdf .
Lots of pics, bagging and tagging, and patience would get it done. If you decide you don't want the broken R154 let me know. I may have someone interested in buying it... if he's willing to try to fix it. He's never opened up a transmission either.
