Yeah that was from back in 09 iirc, I still can't believe Lance sold his Supra. It was mint!

On a side note: I found out last minute via Facebook that Farm Truck and Asian were going to be out at the Raceway today. They were there since 1pm and stayed till 11 hosting the arm drop race today. I got there at around 9ish. It was pretty cool although because it was an arm drop race they didn't have the clock running or the time slips.

I went and decided to run the car since i hadn't cut her loose in quite a while and discovered some major wheel hop. I didn't do a burn out since they're street tires and started with the strut setting on soft (I've done this in the past and it helps the car squat a bit and it feels like it gets better traction in my opinion). I made a few passes and each time i ran I was trying to control the wheel hop issue by adjusting the strut damper settings, pedaling the throttle, and easing the clutch out a bit before launching without getting red flagged. The best pass i made was when the strut setting was on hard and i rolled the launch but still had a significant wheel hop. What bothered me the most is that on a couple of the runs the car shook so violently that the gear popped out of 1st and I ended up missing 2nd. I had never had a wheel hop issue before (even when i was riding in my blown out factory shocks) and am definitely not liking it. I need to check my rear bushings and see if maybe those are worn or maybe the rear traction bars that are prone to bending have finally given way. No matter what it is, i'm gonna have to figure something out and make some changes because this is not working for me :nono:

On the road again! Thank you Miguel for that awesome deal on the radiator. Fits perfect, looks good, and keeps its cool and coolant where it belongs. I guess that's what a radiator is supposed to do, huh? Who knew?

Spurs are the 2014 NBA Champions. Good job guys! Can't believe we blew out the Heat like that. I'm sure we still won't get respect. Somehow we got lucky... again. I think it takes more than luck to stomp a team like Miami Heat.

Yeah it was awesome to see a display of team basketball completely dominate a group of elite players.

Here is a nice video dedicated to the Spurs that depicts them perfectly; not sure if any of you guys have seen it yet:

S.A. Supra i remember in our mini meet that you mentioned maybe selling your exhaust, I'm looking to buying one and the Drager has always been a nice look on a MK3 in my book so let me know if you really are gonna get rid of it and how much you would let it go for. I'm thinking of buying one here fairly soon so keep me posted. I'll save you the shipping trouble :naughty:

David you can trash them.

Miguel, I'm probably gonna sell the car as a whole. I haven't driven, the car in a couple of weeks and I don't miss driving it. A friend dropped by to show me his 2jzgte swapped 240 Yesterday. So I pulled it out of the garage. Other then that I wouldn't have touched it. But let me tell you a 2jzgte in a 240 is freaking scary!

I know what you mean, I rode in an S2000 with a 2jz swap with a few modifications and that was something else. It kept getting sideways no matter what gear it was put in.

Well keep me posted on the price your looking for the car (when you figure it out) and hopefully we can make a deal.

Roger, yeah his clutch was on it way out and he still scared the crap out of me. He said he was getting side ways in fifth. Crazy!

I'm still trying to fix that damn fuel pump problem, gonna try that 12v mod and see if that will fix the problem. I hope to get all the bugs worked out with in a month or so. I'll let you know when it's ready.

Not so good news on my supra. I do not know much when it comes to transmissions but.. it wont engage 1st or 2nd gear. Like, I could have the car running and without pushing the clutch pedal in, I can push the gear lever in 1st or 2nd and nothing happens. Just a 1-2 shift fork issue or a thrust washer? And if either of those, does that mean a rebuilt trans? (Have to take the trans out/apart to fix it?) Shifts into 3rd 4th and 5th regularly. Ha cant get it in reverse either, I previously could just put it in 1st then reverse but I cant do that anymore.... I didnt wanna make my own thread about it but I hoped maybe the san antonio guys may know/have a suggestion? Thanks!

Sorry to hear. I couldn't tell you what it could be. Transmission internals is an unexplored area for me. I've never cracked one open to see what goes on in there. I would make a public post about it in the tech section. I'm sure plenty of guys have been through that, and found the problem. Good luck, and keep us posted.

The thrust washer usually affects 1st gear and it has been known to be failure prone; although what your describing does sound like a broken shift fork. If your going to open up the tranny, you might as well freshen it up a bit while your at it.

That's what I was starting to lean towards. I don't have the balls to open up the trans but I'll look around for some r154's.
Theres a w58 I found on the local classifieds. I haven't found a direct answer yet but i think all i need for the w58 to work is a flywheel from a 7m-ge. I see some guys have success with their w58's on the 7m-gte so I think i'm open to that. sorry thinking out loud here. I should just be patient and get a r154 or get the merlin forks and have a shop change em

If my R154 failed on me internally I'd open it up and try my hand at it. What's the worst you could do... it's already busted.
Besides, it looks easy to do http://www.turboninjas.com/mk3supra/1990/indiv/14_MT.pdf .

Lots of pics, bagging and tagging, and patience would get it done. If you decide you don't want the broken R154 let me know. I may have someone interested in buying it... if he's willing to try to fix it. He's never opened up a transmission either.

The W58 is not a bad transmission but it doesn't hold much power very well. If you've only got a few bolt-ons and aren't looking for anything above 350-400hp range you should be fine. Its much smoother than the R-154 as well.

I personally bought one of the few R-154's built by Marlin Crawler and haven't looked back since. They cost a pretty penny but they are built to handle an estimated 900hp. I'm not anywhere in that vicinity but i'm a big fan of overkill.

Thanks for the link! I'm waiting on a quote from one shop about it. If i go that route i'll just yeah order all 3 marlin crawler shift forks and a better thrust washer.

this is another route i'm considering going... http://www.jackstransmissions.com/products/stage-3-supra-r154 I would like to keep it around 2k or under but.. Don't quite want to take short cuts on it either. Next time i take a road trip to san antonio i could drop the trans off there since jacks is in colorado .. I've also never taken a trans out of a car before but reading up on it, it doesnt look to be too tough. but guess i'll find out. Going this route if i can successfully remove the trans myself.

I appreciate the feedback guys!

Dropping the trans isn't that hard. When do you plan on doing it? I suggest a second hand to keep the trans steady on the jack as you lower it. Unless you have trans jack that you can secure it to then you're good.
