I bought foam pads Step 1 and 3 skipped step 2. and the same for the rubbing compound, step 1 and 3. That stuff is freaking amazing. The only thing is now I can see all the imperfections. but it still looks super shinny.

Any pics?
BTW, I gave David your motor mounts to give to you at the next meet. I may not be able to make the meet cause the wife is already bickering about me hanging out with my friends too much. I'm gonna try to take them too, because I've always wanted to take my son to play at that Chacho's. We'll see.

Looks good. What does the buffing pad look like? Is it red?

Not when I did the hood because of the clear coat. But When I did the rest the pad was red.

Bring your wife, she can hang out with my gf and talk about how much they hate our supras.

everything happens for a reason.

i couldn't get my timing right so i had to pull the coolant block to take the timing cover off and i found a milkshake!

my car is down and i am not having a good day.

i dont see how this could have happened, i tried to do everything right. i torqued everything to spec

good ol kick in the balls and not even a good rubbing after.

a little more rant

i built this fuckin car so i could run the shit out of it every day and just worry about changing the oil.
i really thought i built it right and i cant seem to get a break.

my 22re has been run to shit for year's and taken it like a champ, it doesn't get 1/4 the love and care the supra gets.

this time i am using toyota gaskets and after that i am parting out the motor and building a 2j.
Hell maybe i should scrap the whole thing a build a 5 speed sc300 2j

How in the hell did you get milkshake!? Do you think it was the new gasket? That sucks.

im pretty sure because thats the only gasket i changed and i think the only other gasket that could do that is the headgasket.

David I'll be down there sat. sometime after 1PM Sat. I have a special Olympics thing to do with my girl friend from 7-11. I'll be down after that.

Do you think that if it's the same gasket. That possibly the plate that pins the gasket to the block might be warped, and is not putting enough pressure on the gasket causing it to tear. Idk thats the only thing I could think of. That is of course if it is the same gasket that is the problem.

Rufus And anyone else that was gonna try and go to chachos. I'm not gonna be able to make it. Will leave the studs with David.

I might still go. David, have you done a compression test? I'd do that before tearing it down the replace the timing cover gasket agin. You never know.
I don't have those parts either.

BTW, I'm going to be ordering my clutch disc, FW & PP bolts, shims, and rear timing cover gasket very soon. Would you like to order one, so it can be shipped with my order? I'm going to be going with a Toyota gasket for that particular one. I just want to do that one once... hopefully. All other gaskets I can get to easily if they fail.

Hey david I have one that came with the head from the junk yard you can have. I'll check it for cracks but I think it's in good shape. Is that the one that runs to the heater control valve?

yeah can you get me that and the coolant hose thats on the back of the motor? unless it expensive for some reason

it runs from the hard line in the back of the motor to the fire wall, i guess for the heater.

I think I know which one you're talking about. I need that same one. I was pulling the shit out of it when I yanked my motor out of the car. I forgot it was connected. I'll get you a quote on that one too.
