Ok so pulled up at work just now and the car died. I started it again and the number on spark plug lead was of I put it back on and it popped of. Looks like I'm towing it home tonight and looking it over next month when I get back from Australia. Any ideas on what you may think. I was driving easy but did accelerate a little to pass someone. Really hope its not a bent rod.

I don't understand what happen to your car. What popped off?

2jzgte if its not a dd more power, more money, more gas, and more work to get it in.
1jzgte if its gonna be a dd much easier, and cheaper.

Well I'm not sure what happened I was late for work. The lead popped of number 1 spark plug. I put it back on it started and popped off again. I am wanting to put a new motor anyways I have over 170,000 This might be an excuse for me to start looking for a motor.

Got rod knock, and in my search for a replacement DD, I decided to try for a small car loan of 7k. However, even though my credit score is good (714) it's too short so I got denied. I am looking to get a 4runner since I will be hauling big parts a lot, and i love 4runners. I can still get it, however yesterday while I was looking up my credit file, I saw some questionable stuff and freaked out and put a fraud alert on myself. Somehow the actual physical address of the bank I opened my accounts at is on my personal info... as a place that i have lived... wtf? So while i try to sort out this fiasco, i need something I can drive around in for a couple months.... really sucks living out in the middle of nowhere at least half an hour away from anything useful.

A 1jzgte from a jza70 which is a supra 89-92 overseas has everything you need for the drive train, r154 tranny, flywheel, clutch, bell housing, and it bolts right in a 89+ supra. Pre 89 you need engine brackets. The wires are almost the same. Makes it easier to wire.

2jzgte you have to piece it together. Look at my build thread in my sig for prices. It adds up fast. Currently am at 6k.

Oh yeah the jza70 also comes with the rear sump oil pan.

Ok I have got it home yes it is knocking and number one spark plug is snapped in half that's why the lead was not staying on. I have a whole new set of spark plugs sitting in the garage so I'm going to change them out. Now as for knocking it has a loud tapping sound. Any thoughts on what may be wrong?

Rod knock? Seems to be going around. Or a valve tick? A piston couldn't touch the spark plug I wouldn't think.

Check your oil.

Yeah gonna drop the oil when I get back I have way to much to do before I leave on Thursday. I'm just parking it and forgetting about it. Besides maybe looking for a 1j. It seems like the piston is hitting the spark plug what would cause that? I've heard of people putting a 1j with 2j head is that even worth it. I need to be doing a lot of reading while away so I know exactly what I'm in for.

anyone have a car i can borrow for a couple months?? lol

i have a friend that sales Saturns all day long for under $1500. I bought one about 6 months ago for my daughter but ended up using it for about 4 months daily from New Braunfels to South Austin with only issue being having to replace the water pump. Even has nice and cold a/c.

Longgone, do you have a supra? I saw you Lexus.

not anymore. I have had about 5 mk3's from 7mge, gte and 1jz's. Loved them all but took a break from them. Where in San Antonio are you?
I dont know of too many people out here and went to a margies meet on 1604 with my mr2 about 2 years ago. was cool until a few started acting like a$$es.
