A red mk3 its bone stock besides rims and intake mods. I just put them on. I picked it up from my uncle in pa sat in a garage for 5 years after he died and I drove it down in august. I had a car following me the other night driving home from the draft house Wednesday I only noticed when I did a turn around twice on 1604 and then I just drove around in a circle for a while. It was a white Ford looked like a beat up old police car.

It's turbo 5 speed sorry I neglected the important info. I have a prob overheating but only when the ac is on I can drive all day no ac fine as soon as ac is on in 5 mins I'm climbing. It's fine now cool enough to drive with Windows down but when it gets warm again im dreading it. This is my daily when I don't ride I usually would commute with a bicycle. Also have a grinding noise combing from my rears I did have the springs broken on my e brake which fixed it some when I replaced them but its still there at times really has me lost.

Yes I have all new electric fans that all work and I have all switches in cab like I said it drives perfect all day sits a notch under half all ways I was thinking along the lines of condenser but I have not got to that yet and don't know how to check it. My major problem is this noise from my brakes I replaced to whole new brake system and it fixed most of it seems like when I turn right it wants to be real loud I think it might be my hub bearing but they spin real good I'm not sure how to check them they look like sealed units. I'm actually scared to even touch them because of needing a press and all it seems like a big job. Any ideas?

Bearings could be the problem. I replaced the bearings on my celica it was more of a humming sound.

Any other symptoms to go with the over heating? coolent boiling out the reservoir?

No it is a real weird heating issue does not have the common over heating symptoms. I use Toyota red coolant and put new water pump new 160 thermostat radiator cap and burped the system.

thermostat spring toward the engine? Clutch fan good? Are you sure all your fans are kicking on. The two or three electric and the clutch fan? The wire that runs one of the fans get real brittle from the heat of the turbo.

Yeah all the fans are good and I swapped out the clutch fan for a Taurus fan I rewired the fans also and replaced the front one on the condenser for a much larger one also pushing in. I don't think the fans are too much of an issue because it will not over heat any other time. I figured taking of the clutch fan would take some of the load of the engine when the air con turns on and puts more load but I am not really sure. The new fan I put was brand new and pulls more than 2000 cfm. I figured that would be enough. I also do have to change my exhaust manifold gasket I have the new one just need to get to it but I leave for overseas for 2 weeks on Thursday. Would the gasket cause an issue

No it shouldn't. sounds like you replaced everything except radiator. have you flushed the radiator? I'm thinking there's something wrong with your cooling system, and when you turn on the a/c it has to work harder and its not able to. That's why it over heats. I don't think its your a/c, its just that your engine is working harder and your cooling system can keep up.

I think that's my next option when I get back from Australia I'm going to buy a god speed radiator they seem best value and funds is an issue. I can't justify 400 for fluidyne when the godspeed rads are 200 with dual fan setup. I'll make a new shroud. What do you think? I have a buddy in Australia who had a 7m in a supra running high 10s on his street set up so I'm going to spend some time with him. He moved into a s15 now. In Australia it gets a little hotter than san Antonio so cooling is a huge issue. I was also thinking about changing my manifold is there an after market manifold that I can still keep the stock turbo on I like the look of the piping of the after market manifolds but all the ones I find have a t4 flange. I don't want the extra work of mounting a new turbo and all. But hey I'm new to all this.

Yeah I figured that. Does anyone know of a place that does some manderel bends I'm wanting to get some piping made up and maybe an exhaust I want something a little different unless you recomend just buying of the shelf pre made.

What part of town are you in? If you live on the south side there are muffler shops on every corner that can fab one up for you. I have a hks drager I like it because its nice and quiet plus it is made of quality material 3 inch all the way, with some nice welds. I have had it for five years now and it will probably last another 15. The bad part about the exhaust is that it cost $600. For that price you could probably get 3 of them made at a muffler shop. It's up to you.

Yeah I like the hks systems they have a good qaulity sound to them. No annoying drones. I would be very picky with who does the work I live north side but don't mind the drive anywhere. I would make it as quiet as possible with out sacrificing power. I would also want an elbow and downpipe made any recommendations for the style that performs best. I am trying to get my car done right with out spending big dollars and seeing its the first time I've owned a turbo I'm new to all this. (i have always owned big v8s) I love a turbo so much more.

I ran a ceramic coated cooleeze down pipe that bolted up to the turbo. With a test pipe, but later went to a high flow cat. Keep a eye out in the classified area for a down pipe. You can get them a lot cheaper then buying them new for $300. I think I paid $175 used. The only thing is that company is no longer in business. The test pipes run $75 but I would advise going with a high flow cat. It cost a little more but its helps with all the eye burning fumes. I thing it was a magna flow high flow cat Three inch $95 and I bought two three inch flanges $20 then had the flanges welded on. I dont thing there is a big difference in down pipes just make sure they are 3 inches all the way through.
