The CSF is an outstanding radiator for the $$$...not as pretty as the others, but works like a champ. Even when it's 118 deg outside ;)

It does not have a tranny cooler built in...you will have to re-locate one. I have mine under the drivers side, forward of the wheel. I'm using a Spal electric fan to cool it.

Greg-

Where did you see the alum dual core CSF for ~$200? The cheapest I have seen it is $315 - just wanted to make sure the CSF rad you are talking about is the same one that I am thinking about...

Thanks

If the lower outlet is on the other side, what the heck are you using to route it back to the lower engine outlet? That hose would need to be long as hell. Does anyone have any pictures?

Both the outlets on the KA S14 radiator are on the passanger side. The bottom stock radiator hose connects right up. If you use the SR radiator, both stock radiator hoses should work (although I am not 100% sure about the top one).

Okay, well while checking my oil tonight, I found out where I am loosing coolant from... stress fractures along the top of my rad.

So, anyone figure out which one of these is the easiest to fit to our cars? The SR or the KA? Also, can anyone comment (from experience) on how easily the small electric fan and the fan shroud can be made to fit?

So... I fininshed my install and the part number for the the top radiator hose is 1119. I used the flex hose from Autozone the sku # is 883520. After a couple of weeks of running i realzed that it strecthed a bit ( I didn't know that radiator hoses had a breakin period) but after a cuts from my trusty pocket knife all was better. When I get a digi cam i'll post my picks.

Hows the KA coming mkiii-1jz?

I have been waiting for a couple of parts to arrive so I can finally finish it up. I originally ordered a 90 degree Samco hose and after 3 weeks of waiting, figured out that it's not going to work (doesn't line up right). I am waiting on a new hose from Summit which I should have later this week. I will post some pictures after I install the new hose and fabricate new brackets.

Why would you spend money on a radiator that does not directly fit right when you can get the CSF unit, that is dual core, thickest on the market and sells for about 200.00 street price?

If I had not already bought my Fluidyne, I'd have the alluminum tank'ed twin core CSF setup.

I belive the one I looked at was 180.00 USD.

And it fits like it was made for the Supra.. Which of course it was. :)

Stock radiator shroud fits like a glove, has the right mounts for our electric AC fans, but I don't remember if there was a cooler for the automatic trans...
I think what you're thinking of is the Koyo OEM replacement dual core one...That's what I bought bought from 935 and cost me about 188 shipped. Working out great for me, keeping me ~180 degrees.

I was finally able to finish up the installation of the S14 KA radiator. While it didn't fit perfectly and I had to make a few modifications, I was able to make it work in the end. The few hours of extra work was certainly worth the $200 in savings.

damn, pretty cool man. i think this should be stickied for everyone looking for a good cheap upgrade for their radiators, even if it isn't plug and play.
