I'm in the break in period on the new motor and I am hearing a slight miss. The plugs were reused as they looked brand new per the place that rebuilt it and the plugwires didnt...I wish they had told me that earlier and just replaced them. Anyways i have a new set of plug wires coming from A2motorsports. I am also going to change the plugs at that time.

I also have a pending purchase of an SAFC II. Once i get some more miles on the engine and do a few more oil changes I will take her to a local dyno for a tuning.

On the little issue side of things:
1. I will be taking out and replacing the ebrake cover this week once im off work enough for some daylight.
2. Replaced the interior blue tinted courtesy lights with clear ones.
3. Will be pulling the a pillars and dash soon to install the new-er dash, gauge cluster and a-pillars.
4. Yanking the AC controller to have the LED's installed.
5. Modifying the two glove boxes i have to give me one decent one.

damn i need to take a day off from work, but DAMN i also need the OT $$$$

Still wouldnt mind trading for a 1jz 5spd, cant buy one now tho since i bought a new daily driver.

Yeah that C43 is pretty impressive. Its really got me thinking about the supra becoming more extreme once i get it out of break in and a few things worked out. Nothing IJ crazy, but maybe yank turbo, injectors etc in 09 and go for 500 or so at the wheels.

Well the supra has pretty much just warn out my patience and my wallet. i am seriously considering selling this car and taking the loss and aggravation as a learning experience.

There is still a miss i am working on fixing, but i am not going to put anymore new parts into the car. I think im done, F' it. besides i wanna shift gears again.

you could try to put a independent ground on the igniter, and on the coilpack.
its not like its going to hurt anything...

and drive the car for 500miles, and then pull the plugs and see what cylinder is misfiring, because if your "miss" is anything like mine, your plugs will tell the story of whats really going on in there.

I am not quite sure i understand that, i am obviously not an engine/electrical person. But i have decided to take it to another shop that some people recommend around here and see if they can diagnose and fix it.

I really want a 5spd 1j/2j so even if they can fix it i may sell it anyways. My other option is to yank the engine and sell it and slam in the 1j/2j. We shall see at this point, im wishy washy, out of patience and kinda pissed so, we shall see.

yeah i know im just frustrated! I am going to call Fighters and Adams and check on having them look the car over and see if they can fix it. And i am willing to throw bigger injectors, a tuner maybe a lil more cash into it, but at this point if the right trade came along I'd do it

I think its time to move on....
The supra is just an unrealistic car for me at this time. I am spending too much money "trying" to get it how i want it. I am about to move out of my house and into the GF's where there wont really be a place for the supra. She has a lil girl and she has always wanted a convertible, and I miss the ease and simplicity of a droptop 5.0 compared to the targa which my GF wont want to do compared to dropping the top by hitting a button. Plus a mustang is just that a brutal and simple car which i can work on and fix myself and parts are a lot cheaper. So all in all ive put about 13-14k into the car and ill be happy to get half that back, but with that i can buy a nice lil lx 5.0 or gt and fix it up as well. I will come back to supras in a few years but at that point i am going to just buy exactly what i want or near want i want and be done with it.

For sale thread coming soon.

Maybe it would be wiser to do a part out, back to a stock car with a new paint job and very nice seats. Then you make back a little of your money before selling it. Upgrades with very little miles usually sell for almost new price.

Well even though the car is up for sale I am going to continue to work on it as time allows to make it better... i would prefer a mustang convertible auto for the GF right now, but i still love my supras. So yes i am torn with a love/hate relationship on this car. The potential is all right there...but

Currently there is an issue with the car missing/sputtering at 1800-2000 then she is fine again. I am waiting for my Brother in law to return to town to have him do some diagnosing/work on the car to try to get the issue straightened out.

I am by NO means a mechanic but I want to check the plugs/ignition system and the fuel injectors. Could very well be the harness as it is definitely hacked more than i like.

If the car makes the move out of my house and into my GF's i think i will remove the harness and send it to 935M to get the harness repaired no matter what. And if my bro in law finds its the injectors i am going to order up some 550's or a little larger injectors and a fuel tuner.

I would like to go to that event in texas, but definitely not in in this car unless its more reliable. You wanna come over and give me your two cents on this beast? I can buy beers, steaks etc! My bro in law is out of town for 4-6weeks so its up to my retardedly poor automotive diagnostic skills for now!

X2 if I came over.

I would love to come help, but can't promise I'll be a lot of help. I'll check the schedule closer to next weekend, and let you know. I'm getting older then, and I'm sure the family will want to do something. I just don't know when.

SO! I was talking with a friend and we both seemed to remember the low idle 1800-2100 sputtering/miss coming on shortly after i had the hi-flo cat installed. So i am wondering if their is an issue with the cat that may be causing this. Anyone else think its plausible? All this was before the hi-po rebuild and the exhaust wasnt touched during the rebuild.
