I bought this 91 turbo targa supra automatic to make a daily driver. The body was straight just ugly, engine seemed pretty good...ill know for sure when i get it back. All the accessories worked, hell everything worked to my surprise. Its going to be a little more involved than I thought. I've figured out some of the issues with the car and will figure out and fix the rest as i come across them. I ordered some stuff to start as you can see below.

On a ha-ha story of my life funny note, I took the car to get painted and it was involved in an accident...at the paint shop...but they're fixing it and making it right. After much back and forth I decided to have it painted the 3h8 Burgundy Pearl again.

*** Edit! ****
Things that are wrong and will be righted!
1. AC blows but not cold
2. [Strike]Paint is obviously CRAP - At the paint and body shop currently.[/Strike]

8. HKS fuel cut controller.. meh not sure on this one..
9. Triple pod pillar w/ white face gauges.. Will be removed.
10. White face glo gauges - probably going to remove and just replace with LED's
*** Updated***well damnit, its the white face gauges and ONLY the white face gauges...the Blue LEDS look good, but now waiting on the replacement gauge cluster.

Damn "THE IJ" is fast for an old man from down under! But because the IJ asks the IJ shall receive...a few old outside are added for now. The parts I ordered and have in stock will follow as soon as i can un-break my camera.

as soon as i got the car in my garage I removed the big ugly sub box, dvd player, gps, trash, and assorted crap. Re-moved and placed the targa holders on the proper sides and in the proper orientation. They were sideways and on the wrong side.

Some shots of the Ass-ugly interior which will be fixed ASAP.

Well FUCK FUCK FUCKITY FUCK FUCK FUCK...
I still don't have my car back, they have to fix the maf connector which apparently got damaged when they had the accident in the shop, as it worked great prior to going in..hopefully i will get it back this week.

So far this car feels like its fuckin cursed. BUT i did get to look at and inspect the paint and it looked pretty damned good.

Sorry bout that I was a lil miffed, still am but o well. The avatar pic was taken at a friends law office party...you should see the other ones. WOWZA! :aigo:

Well the paint shop cant fix the harness that goes to my AFM but has offered to tow it to a shop and pay to have it repaired but I am going to just have it delivered to my house. If I cant fix it, and i probably cant, my Bro in law can...and there is always the chance that i may just go ahead and get a MAF-T setup....

Ok got some more done and found some more problems to fix...quite a few more...

1. Spliced in new Maf connector so it would run right again....well at least run.
2. Removed old stereo, navi system, non-motorized tv and lots of old poorly connected wiring.
3. Cleaned the carpet - probably going to have to replace - later.
4. Removed rear seats and removed old covers.
5. Cleaned out the rear hatch area.
6. Removed old 18" tuner wheels to discover... a broken stud, fun...need to have this fixed or replace - beyond my abilities I am a computer geek.
7. put on the mkiV rims, and ordered a center cap to replace the missing one.
8. Ordered some new tires nothing fancy but decent i hear - General EXCLAIM UHP's 245/40/17 and 275/40/17's, loves me some tire rack
9. Had the Raptor Racing muffler installed to replace the hackjob thrush muffler.
10. Replaced the old battery with a new and properly sized one, corrected some of the piss poor wiring to the battery.
11. Found scale in the radiator so ordered a new radiator from A2, some new ilumina shocks, & 160 thermostat.
12. Re-adjusted my budget --- ^ UP! ^ again....

After paint.

Thanks... I woke up to a flat tire today, but the tires on their are crap and i knew it.

I found and removed more unnecessary wiring today. Worked on restoring the luster to the black trim. Removed the gauge cluster because im not sure if i like the el-glo style white face gauges or not yet...if i do take them out then ill need to swap the ones in the pillar. Thinking I would like to do LED's in the cluster and matching in the ac - blue, then it will match my cd player.

I may have the local upholstery shop re-dye my carpet while i wait for a new one to come in. Anyone done this as a temporary or permanent measure and how did they like it? I saw a few threads on it and new carpet...

Ill post up some under construction pics when i get back from the beach!

Ok i am a slack bastard, i got back from the beach and didnt put up pics...and now I am at work and cant put up pics but I can when i get home.

I had my MkIV's mounted with General Exclaim UHP 245/40/17 and 275/40/17. So far I like them better than the sumitomo htrz II's i had on my mustang. But we will see how they work in the wet. Found out i have a broken stud on the front right spindle that will get replaced this weekend i hope.

May have to put a spacer for the rear tires once the Intrax lowering springs (ebay score) and new tems compatible illumina shocks(coming from A2motorsports) go on.

Pulled the gauge cluster off to remove the indiglo type gauges and install my LED's thanks to the comprehensive lighting mod thread only to discover that the original black gauges are not there...
Anyone know if there is an LED change to illuminate the Auto shifter? I havent looked into it yet.

Repaired but need to come back to the wiring on my driver side headlight. Also replaced both with Sylvania Silverstars for now.

Busted my knuckles inside the dash prepping it to put my cd player in...My skin shreds like cheese since ive gotten older!!!

My parents went ahead and had the seats installed for me!
My mom and I were being sneaky and took my dad's benz to get the top replaced for his birthday and while they had the supra at their house, my GF took the leathers and the car to a different upholstery shop to get them installed for my b-day. The seats look GOOD, and the smell of new leather really makes a 17 yr old car feel like new.
Whats your schedule this week? I am off thurs-sat every week unless i work OT, so I am up to meet up, chill and get some 7m supra learning off ya...and buy some parts :D

Ummmm...I got your PM, but I want to speak for everyone on this part.:ttiwwp:

As for meeting up, I will be making it to Cruise n the Coast over in Mississippi next weekend. Maybe you can make it over for that. Then, I'm going up on the 24th for the Central Alabama meet, but my car is iffy for that one.

And for parts, the small parts are F.R.E.E that spells FREE, but if I can find that Lexus and it works, I'll want a couple dollars out of it. Not much, I'll match or beat the most recent sale that I know of. I saw where Noah bought one from that same thread I spoke of for $30.

Over the weekend i took some Bondo black restore to some of the old black trim and to my surprise it helped a lot. I think another coat on the parts i hit and some on the parts I missed will make it that much better.

Just ordered from DM today.
1. Front Left and Right Powerslot rotors
2. Axxis ultimate break pads
3. DM's brake line kit.
(because the squeal is getting embarassing, but it still stops me
4. Front Energy Susp. Poly bushing kit
5. Spearco Style Intercooler
6. Blitz type 1 Rad

Paint looks good tho. How much did that run?

The paint ran me $880 with taxes and its way better than what i expected for that price. But i didnt go the show car route, i went with something that i wouldnt freak out when someone dented/scratched it for the first time...
WHICH it has already been scratched thanks to the rear wiper arm...which i have disconnected till i can find out why it went back that far.
