that is where you are wrong. this isn't conventional paint and it lasts a long time. Very high quality, wont rust and very durable.

I agree that its all in the prep. If you have the patience to wet sand the hell out of every coat you apply, I have faith that you cna make the car look good.

I recently bought a beater Mk2 for $200 and I will be doing all the work on it myself and for as cheap as possible. I might look into this becuase I would be able to take my time and make it look good. But if it looks like shit...I'll bite the bullet and get it sprayed right.

Anyone thinking about doing this should decide if they have the patience to spend countless hours on the car to save a few grand...and still never have the same quality.

any of those things i would need hard to get?
same deal with plastic?
dont wanna jack but would it be cheaper to get rust spots welded up and cleaned up or to get all whole new fender and pieces?

but thats camillion paint, thats not your everyday paint job.
um yep, that shit is expensive and useless.
the point of this was that quality stock paint jobs cost well into the 5000 mark. Ask anyshop how much for ext and interior sprays. you will be surprised. The truth of the matter is, i've seen this done in person, seen results, have seen acrs that have been dd for over 3 years with this paint and it still holds up just liek the day he put it on. Im not a know it all, i never give that because i ask questions. Simply put.

total they had to pay-$50,000

I whole heartedly agree with your point that it is possible to spend way too much on something. Yes a paint job can cost $50k, hell I will charge you $500k to paint your car. It doesn't mean it is necessary and it doesn't mean that an inexpensive product won't look great.

im not gonna argue with you guys.

this is truly a pointless arguement, and we all agree to disagree. i want to say more..

and ps, they gladly payed 50k, thought it was good enough to be in a musem too? did they think it was worth it?? idk, they seem to enjoy it as it being in a musem

Theres a few questions, but it depends on the size and severity of the rust.
If you can do the work yourself its usually cheaper, if not a junkyard fender would probally be cheaper.
