Well it seems I have either have a RN or a spun bearing. I got everything back together and it sound like my engine is knocking. It's pretty loud. I think coolant could have possibly got into my oil or something. Could this happen from simply changing the intake manifold gaskets? I'm going to change my oil tomorrow and go from there.

Thanks guys,
Matt

What do you mean by that? The RPMS are reading fine if that's what you mean? As far as I know the RPM gage is correct.

When you rev the engine, does it get louder at the RPMS increase?

Thatll narrow your choice down of what creating the noise. Many think valvetrain noises are rod knock.

It ran perfect, then it wouldn't start. I had to remove the intake manifold to change the starter. Now it runs like crap.

Never touched anything internal

EDIT: Just removed the belts and the noise is still there, so I know it couldn't be anything belt driven.

Interesting concept that ;)

I believe you said in a earlier post that you had coolant somehow leaking around the intake. If it was leaking around the small return line on the intake manifold, you definatly could have sucked some coolant into the intake. Which means it probably got into the oil, compromised the bearings, result=RK.

Man, that sucks. Injectors tick pretty loud sometimes as well, and can sometimes fool the untrained ear. Is it louder up in the engine compartment, or under the car?

Could a loose starter cause a knock noise? i mean i'm just curious:]
I would think it may knock when you try to start it if it was loose. But he's saying it's rpm related.

I'd do what IJ suggested to narrow down the cylinder.
