Yeah and I used gasket sealer, not to mention I do have an exhaust leak, but it sound like it's coming from the top on the engine rather than the Y pipe (Where the exhaust leak is).
I'm confused!!!
Are you talking about the intake "y" pipe or the exhaust "y" pipe that you have the leak? Were is the leak you are talking about comming from. You should be able to hear it with a hose to your ear to locate it.

We bought the car with an exhaust leak, at the Exhaust Y-Pipe. The intake PASSED the smoke test at StreetSports! So no leaks, and I'm suprised!

Understood. But you still have the knocking sound right?
Were they able to help you track down the sound at StreetSports?

I'm wondering if this is really RK. St2b has posted a series of issues lately, just pulled the intake mani and voila: Rod Knock!

It just seems coincidental, doesn't it?

I hope not. Actually wait, if I do, I will have a place for that 2jz to go ;)

Sorry guys I can't hold out anymore, I bought a 2jzge from a buddy who had RTC swap in a GTE and PHR turbo kit on his 95.

I have to move my car from my house to my grandpas where the motor is on the stand =]

Now I need to invest in tools...

lol, what a duesche bag :) ...

Insults aside, Craftsman makes good tools for the homeowner. Home Depot carries Husky, which is made by the same people, and has a lifetime warranty as well, for around 2/3 the price. Get all your sockets, wrenches, ratchets and such at H.D. Get your specialty tools, like Torque wrenches, at Sears(these are better). If you decide to get air tools, get IR(Ingersol Rand), and keep them oiled. Oil them before you use them, and before you put them away.

I was plan on building it na-t before dropping it in the car. I kindof don't have the money to build it, fact is it's not going in the supra as a turbo engine for a while.

I'm going to keep it 7m until I learn how to drive, then upgrade to the built 2j.

So it's not all pointless to help me out, I thank all of you guys because I'm going to go back out there tomorrow and work on tracking down the problem, then fix it...

But if push comes to shove I might have to go 2jz-ge
